If you didnt know, I have a thing for black + whites.
I would 1000% do only black + whites if that could be a thing. Ive spent just as much crafting my black + white presets just as I have the colored ones.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆.
We were greeted rain storms that would come and go on this wedding day. Living in the south, a rainy wedding day is going to happen here and there. Sarah + Zach didn't seem to worry about the rain for a second. They were so patient as we waited on the rain to pass at certain moments + they embraced the weather.
Not everyone gets to have cute clear umbrella photos on their wedding day (swipe right) but they made the most of it.
Weather, especially in the south, is unpredictable (yet very predictable). It's nothing to stress about or worry over. You simple have to trust that everything will be ok + that your vendors can pull off an epic day no matter the weather.
This is coming from a couple who had truly unpredictable weather on their wedding day. Hello snow!
You may have blue skies, a tropical storm, and a snowy wedding day, but no matter what, it'll be great, beautiful, + you will get married.

Many things have happened in 2020, some good, some not so good. Many transitions and different obstacles but the Lord has taken care of us. We are looking forward with expectations of what the Lord has for us! Happy Birthday, love you very much!!! -David.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀.⁣⁣
Get engagement photos done! Whether you are having an extra-long or super short engagement season, get some photos taken. This serves a lot of purposes, like capturing this sweet season but it serves 2 main purposes I'm going to share.⁣⁣
1) If you think you know who you want your photog to be, it gives you a chance to do a trial run with them before you commit to the wedding day. You can find out first hand if you are going to be a good match for this crazy season + the person you want to spend your entire wedding day with.⁣⁣
2) If you have already committed to a photographer, this gives a perfect opportunity for your photographer to learn your photo behaviors. This means we can learn what side you prefer, things you don't care for, = the kind of prompts/poses you like and dislike.⁣⁣
Engagement photos are not only super fun, especially when you go on a trip for them, but also the perfect learning opportunity for you two + the photographer.⁣⁣

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀?⁣
𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲.⁣⁣
We've been dreaming of a trip out west to explore the mountains + national parks for a long time. Originally we were going to spend our birthdays in Europe.⁣⁣
We dropped our plans to go anywhere as time moved forward but 2 weeks before this picture was snapped, we chose to go for it + venture to Utah for our birthday trip.⁣⁣
We didn't have a plan for this trip on any level. We knew we wanted to shoot at the lake + planning stopped there.⁣⁣
It was 4 days of spontaneity at it's finest. We never really knew where we were going until an hour beforehand. We didn't even pack until an hour before we were to head for the airport.⁣⁣
Moment of truth: are you a big planner or more of a spontaneous adventurer?⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Somedays you’re trying to search for an idea and nothing comes to fruition + other times you are so inspired and brain is full of great ideas 💡
It happened to me last night around 2:30 AM. I could not fall asleep and just like a switch my brain started going on creative mode. I was so tired but decided to pull out my phone in the middle of the night and jot some things down and see what comes of it.
I just realized sometimes creativity hits you at very odd times. You can tell your brain “ be creative” it just happens. You have to be ready. And sometimes is really hard to take immediate action and write things down and push through things all the way to ex*****on. Sometimes it can be really hard but IT is WORTH IT!

Unexpected turns in our journey often stop can stop us from where we are trying to get.
We had big travel plans for 2020, but after the last 6 months with no end in sight, we decided to mask up + take the plunge.
There were a lot of back and forth conversations, research, and intensive prep that went into planning this trip in the pandemic.
Was it a lot of work for a 4-day trip? It sure was but 1000% worth it. It was one of the best times to travel + head to the mountains. We saw people go above + beyond for our comfort + safety. Shoutout to for doing the most. We planned adventures based on being around fewer amounts of people. There was not one time we felt uncomfortable or unsafe in terms of germs.
We can’t live in fear but learn to walk in wisdom + faith.

Remember when I was popping champagne on the gram the other day?
What is in us that equate celebrating with something popping or exploding? (We love popping champagne + setting off fireworks in this country).
I always suggest to my brides to bring champagne to pop to your engagement session and/or wedding. It makes for a sweet experience + some extra fun. You can kick off bride + groom portraits with a "just married" cheers that sets the tone for the rest of the even as it's time to celebrate + breathe.
Champagne can be something that you serve to your whole guest list for toasts, but also something you just keep between the two of you. It's your day, you get to do what you want.
They also make for some of the best photos, no matter what. We did a champagne pop for our 2-year anniversary photos + loved it!
So grab the bubbly + add it into your day!
Even if alcohol isn't your thing, it's really fun to grab the Martinelli's + pop that.
