Pictured are a funny thing, they preserve moments that become memories we cling to. And this year has taught me that more than any other year. I’d be lying if I said this year has been easy. This year has put more challenges in front of me than I care to count, but also more opportunities to choose how I respond to them. That word…respond. It’s a pivotal word….how we respond can change everything. May my response continually be, “Yes, Lord.” Maybe in time I’ll be able to put words together to share more from what this year has taught me, but I remember back in January praying over this year, and praying God would give me eyes to see people. And this year, He’s asked me time and time again to say yes, to show up, to be in these circumstances I never asked for that have dropped me to my knees in tears, but I’ve had the greatest privilege to preserve moments for treasured people in our community that are memories I know will be clung to forever. Did you know a respond is also a noun? It’s the short pillar that holds up the rounded archways you often see in European architecture - which has made me sit and think, in seasons of grief, in seasons of joy (which often co-exist), may we be like responds, holding one another up, leaning on each other, being the hands and feet of Jesus for our community, and showing up to love one another well. Life is so precious, the little things we sometimes stress about really don’t matter, but the little ordinary moments are some of the most treasured. Notice them today, treasure them, don’t be afraid to say yes, and let Him lead the rest. 🤍
