If organizing the team headshots has landed on your desk, here is the short version.

Decide first whether the photos will live together. A leadership page, a pitch deck, a wall — if they sit side by side, they have to be shot the same way. That single decision drives everything else.

Give people a dress note, not a dress code. "Solid colors, avoid busy patterns, bring a jacket if you'd wear one" prevents most of the problems and doesn't feel like a uniform.

Book a room, not a hallway. Any spare conference room works. I bring the backdrop and lighting in, so people come down for a few minutes and go straight back to their desks.

Build in the no-shows. Someone is always on a call. A short buffer at the end catches them without derailing the schedule.

And agree who approves. Nothing stalls a team shoot like twelve people each waiting to be told their photo is fine.

Studio or on-location? Most people think they have to choose. For a team, you don't.

Studio gives you control. Same light, same background, every person matched — which is exactly what you want when a whole team's photos have to sit next to each other on a website without looking like they were taken across five different decades.

On-location gives you context, and it saves everyone the trip.

The usual mistake is picking location because it's easier on the calendar, then discovering that twelve people photographed in different corners of the office over one afternoon do not look like a set.

So for teams I bring the studio to you. Same backdrop, same lighting, set up in a conference room or any spare corner — people come down for a few minutes and go straight back to work. You get studio consistency without anyone leaving the building.

Five things that are silently working against you in your current headshot:

1. It was taken more than 3 years ago. People meet you in person and there's a gap.
2. It's a crop from a group photo. It shows.
3. The background is a grey office hallway wall.
4. You're squinting. Bad lighting does this.
5. You hate it — so you avoid using it, which means you have no photo representing you anywhere.
