MicroVision Laboratories, Inc. is proud to announce that we have earned our accreditation as an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliant testing laboratory. So of course we celebrated with an ISO Ice Cream Party!

We are the first laboratory to ever achieve this International Standard in the testing field of Analytical Microscopy. A second field of Chemical Testing is also included on our certificate reflecting our extensive EDS and FTIR experience.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an International Standard designed for the accreditation of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. It requires that all testing laboratories demonstrate that they operate a thorough quality management system, are technically competent, and generate valid results. Holding this accreditation gives MicroVision Labs a competitive advantage since only a handful of labs provide compliant microscopy services.

Merry Christmas and Season's Greeting from all of us at MicroVision Labs! We hope you don't have to be a microscopist to find the worlds smallest Christmas card really cool. So check out this tiny card made in the U.K. at their National Physical Laboratory and let us know what you think. They say it would take about 200 million of these cards to cover the surface of a single postage stamp!

This Christmas card is a very, very, very small gesture of holiday goodwill.

If you happen to be in Sydney on Friday, please stop by the Art Gallery of New South Wales for the Infrared & Raman Users Group's (IRUG) conference and say hi to John and Heather. John will be presenting a paper he co-authored on the join work Bruker Corporation and MicroVision Labs conducted on two newly discovered potential Jackson Po***ck paintings. It is an interesting case study on how non-destructive analyses (XRF, Raman and FTIR) can be used to help authenticate works of art.

When explaining what we do, we often tell people to think of CSI for business, without the crime (usually). We look at little thing and identify unknowns to help companies solve R&D, QC and manufacturing problems. So we are not really CSI but we do watch the shows and have wondered about the CSI Effect. Does watching crime shows like CSI make better criminals? This study says no.

In an experimental study, researchers have been able to find no evidence of a correlation between watching forensic science TV shows and the ability to get away with committing a crime. This is the first study to look at the question of whether criminals could profit from viewing dramas of this sort...
