What an unforgettable way to close out our 3rd grade girls travel basketball season!
Today our 3rds took the floor against the 2nd grade team in a hard-fought, full-court game that was full of heart and hustle from tip-off to the final buzzer. These girls—many who’ve been growing up together on the court since kindergarten—competed with real fire, pushing each other to be better every possession.
What made it special? Even in the heat of battle, our 3rd graders stayed classy: every time the 2nds scored, our girls clapped and cheered them on like they played for the same team. The genuine respect and encouragement said everything.
I’m beyond proud of our 3rd graders for the leadership, toughness, and sportsmanship they showed all season. And seeing those 2nd graders step up fearlessly against the “big girls,” playing with confidence and flashing the skills they've been building—man, it was inspiring.
This is the Grasslake girls basketball way: fierce competition wrapped in real support, where every player’s success lifts the whole program. We’re not just building players—we’re building sisters who celebrate each other’s wins, big or small.
