What a great time at Chelsea Day on Saturday! Check out a few photos from the street in front of my exhibit. Great to see people reminiscing and running into friends and neighbors they knew long ago. Some of the featured children in my photos actually came by to identify themselves! in fact, the first photo in this post is Chelsea native Christian Calvo (now an adult) who heard there was a photo of him in my exhibit, taken when he was about seven years old.

Thank you to the City of Chelsea, Ed Medros and the Walnut Street Synagogue, Amy Schlegel, the Chelsea Cultural Council, Mass Cultural Council, my publicist Terry Weber Mangos, and all of the folks who dropped by the exhibit.

FYI, there were just sixteen photos in the windows for this exhibit, but I have thousands of them from Chelsea. For all the people who asked where they can see more of my photos, I started posting them on Instagram some time ago, and you will soon see more of them soon, and here on Facebook as well. My instagram site is: instagram.com/photobyjarmak/

Thank you everyone!

We're just a week away from celebrating Chelsea Day! Here's one of images of the children of Chelsea, MA in my exhibit, do you recognize anyone?

Come drop by and see me at my sidewalk reception, next Saturday (Oct 19*) 1-2 PM in front of Gallery 456 at 456 Broadway. Perhaps you can help me identify some of the children in my photos! Chelsea Day runs from 12-4 PM, so you can make a day of it, enjoying entertainment, activities, and viewing my art hanging in the windows of Gallery 456.

See my previous post for more details! Chelsea Day Flyer is also in comments of this post.

*October 20 is rain date. Same time.

So excited to announce that photographs from my recent exhibit in Gloucester, MA have been accepted into the Cape Ann Museum. I can't tell you what it means to me to know that my photography will have a life of its own for years to come. My deepest gratitude to the museum team including Martha Oaks* (Curator) and Amber Wingerson* (assistant Curator); Terry Weber Mangos (my publicist) for helping me get my photos noticed by everyone mentioned in this post, Gail McCarthy of the Gloucester Daily Times; all who attended my exhibit; and last but not least my family and friends who have supported me along the way. Will share more details soon. Be sure to drop by the Cape Ann Museum when you are up here, a beautiful and important place in Gloucester. *Martha Oaks and Amber Wingerson from the Cape Ann Museum are featured in the photo below, holding one of my accepted pieces. Thank you all.

For those of you coming to the opening night of my photography show on Friday, here's a photo of the Maud / Olson Library in Gloucester. I share this picture because I want the guests to know that the library is inside this building (that looks like a regular house). **RSVP here: https://bit.ly/2Y8oxJi. When you arrive, pull into the driveway on the right and there is a small lot there, as marked with the star/arrow in pic. I will find out where more parking is. You enter on the right side of the building, not the front door. The address is 108 East Main Street in East Gloucester. Opening night is this Friday August 16, 5 to 7 PM. We need RSVP's as space is limited, and we would like to plan for the refreshments. The library also has AC if its hot out, and an open deck area as you can see from the photo. **RSVP here: https://bit.ly/2Y8oxJi

Consider coming up early to visit beautiful Gloucester and beat the afternoon traffic. Gloucester is a haven for writers and artists. Just down the street from the library is a little village called Rocky Neck, home to one of the oldest continuously operating art colonies in the US. You can see the works of Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper and current artist galleries, as well as small shops. You can grab a drink at the Studio Restaurant overlooking the harbor too. Look up Rocky Neck and other attractions on TripAdvisor if you feel like planning a day trip. I want to see your photos if you do!

Learn more about the Maud / Olson Library here: http://maudolsonlibrary.org. The Maud Olson library is a project of the Gloucester Writers Center. Henry Ferrini
