Last night the storms absolutely dumped on my location for just a few minutes, and then left a really nice rainbow. It looked very impressive in person—less so in photos. 😆 (That’s my dash, not ChatGPT’s. Unfortunate that I have to say that.)

: A few shots around Hesston from a test roll I ran through an estate sale camera. It’s a Minolta Autocord, which is a medium format TLR. I’d say it’s well worth the $40.

I used a 100-yr-old camera on a recent road trip. Turns out I was bad at it!

This week’s video covers the history of the Siloam Springs Museum in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and is dedicated to the memory of Don Warden. Don was my coworker and friend while I worked at the museum in 2017 & 2018. Sadly, he passed away last month. The community of Siloam Springs will miss him dearly, as will I.

Kaity and I had a date night in downtown Wichita last night, and I snuck in a bit of mobile photography. You know what they say, “The best camera is the one you have with you.”

It’s important to know the photogenic spots near your usual routes so that when conditions are too good to pass up, you know exactly where to go! Kaity and I were on our way home from Wichita last night when the sunset began to light up the bottom of this storm. This old gas station is one of the “spots” I’ve got mentally catalogued, and it worked great for the situation.

Here’s a typical setup for a corporate headshot photoshoot. In a bulk shoot like this, I often take photos for upwards of 40 people. So while the photography is fun, my favorite part of these shoots is actually all the people I get to meet. The lights and camera equipment are all mine, but this is actually the company’s photo studio.
