Such an amazing ceremony and one for the books! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the crowd this was so beautifully put together and thought out. Starting with the daughters singing the national anthem, the folding of the flag each end being father and son, the watch ending with the son relieving his father of the watch, and the final salute. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Welcome Home 78! Being on both the pier and flight lines and seeing the remarkable sizes of relief and just being present was an honor. I personally love being a part of the homecomings. Cheering for them as they arrive and hitting a course sometimes with emotions. Today, I’ll be making a couple posts of homecoming I was able to capture between clients and command sessions.

The Secretary of War was in attendance for the homecoming of the USS Gerald R. Ford as families, spouses, and loved ones gathered to welcome their sailors home. His admiration for the strength and resilience of the spouses and families waiting on the pier was unmistakable, and the joy shared throughout the return was felt by everyone in attendance.
After an extraordinary 326 days at sea, this deployment made history as the longest post-Vietnam deployment for a U.S. Navy carrier strike group. Today wasn’t just about records being broken, it was about reunion, sacrifice, perseverance, and finally bringing home the sailors of this strike group. ⚓🇺🇸

Today was one ceremony I wasn’t mentally prepared for, in the best way possible. One of those moments where you find yourself behind the camera with tears in your eyes while trying to capture it all.
Today, Captain Bangor retired after 30 years of service in the USN. During the flag detail, father and son stood at opposite ends — emotional on its own — but that wasn’t even the moment that hit the hardest.
As the reciting of the watch came to an end, his son stepped forward to deliver the final salute and officially relieve him of the watch. But hearing the words, “We have the watch, father…” absolutely pulled at every heartstring in the room. Such a beautiful and unforgettable ceremony.
Just wait until I share more photos and moments from this incredible retirement ceremony. The emotions today were something special. 🇺🇸⚓
