The bags are packed. The Kindle is loaded. The passport is ready.

I'm heading to France today, and I am beyond thrilled. I haven't been to Paris since I was 19–when I stayed in a hotel where the door didn't quite lock and the bathroom was a shared Turkish toilet down the hall. 0/10 do not recommend.

This trip is a completely different story. Lifelong friends, a few days in Paris, the French countryside, and–the cherry on top–adult summer camp. Camp Château is a women-only experience and it has been on my dream list longer than I can explain. I fully intend to earn merit badges for drinking French wine and general excellence in croissant consumption!

There is nothing I love more than travel. Nothing. But my fatal flaw is that I struggle to be present on a trip because I am already planning the next one.

So help me out–where are you going this summer? Or where have you been that should absolutely be on my list? I'm already taking notes and the flight hasn't even landed yet!

Major mom fail this summer: my kids are in seven collective weeks of camp, and only ONE of those weeks overlaps. I am vowing to do better next year and leaving it at that.

For now, I'm making the most of this one magical week AND the special one-on-one time with each of my kiddos even if "getting things done" is completely off the table.

Was your camp planning more together than mine, or are you in the mismatched chaos with me?

Happy Maycember, everyone!

If your May looks anything like mine, your calendar is basically a hostage situation - recitals, performances, games, parties, field days...

But you know what's coming? S-U-M-M-E-R. Slow mornings. No carpool chaos. Days that don't require a color-coded spreadsheet to survive.

Summer is THE perfect time to get your family in front of my camera. The kids are relaxed, nobody's rushing to practice, and we can actually enjoy golden hour without someone still in a uniform. No back-to-school stress, no holiday pressure. Just your people, lots of sunshine, and gorgeous light.

Spots are already filling up, so if you've been meaning to book a session, now is the moment. Link in bio to grab your summer date before the chaos finds us again.

Mother's Day is Sunday! PSA for anyone still figuring it out: I offer gift certificates, and they are a very good idea. Mom wants to BE in the photos. You want to be the hero. I want to help. They're delivered digitally so there's zero scrambling at the last minute. DM me - let's make this happen!

Your home doesn't need to look like a magazine spread for your newborn photos to be stunning.

This session was photographed in a small apartment. One window. A little natural light. That's it.

No sprawling living room. No designer nursery. No perfect backdrop. Just a family, a brand new baby, and lots of love.

Your home is enough. I promise.

The secret to great family photos with a toddler isn't getting your little one to "cooperate" — it's setting them up to feel their best. Here are my top three tips for setting the stage for success:

1. Protect the nap. Since sessions are scheduled at golden hour, this means booking a session when the sunset aligns with your kiddo's nap schedule — a rested toddler is a happy toddler.
2. Stash some snacks. I won't say no to a mid-session cookie break either, so no judgment here.
3. Keep your own energy light and easy. Toddlers are tiny mood mirrors — they take their cues from you. Come ready to laugh, be silly, and let things be a little unpredictable.

A rested, well-fed little one with a relaxed, laughing parent? That's where the magic happens — and it starts long before I press the shutter.

I spotted the first tiny green tulip shoots in the yard this week and just like that, my winter funk lifted. That's all it takes.

My spring calendar is officially open. I have a limited number of spots available and I'd love for you to be part of what's shaping up to be a really beautiful season. If you've been thinking about booking — family portraits, couples, senior sessions, whatever you have in mind — now is the time to reach out.

Let's create something beautiful together this spring!

Okay, real talk — one of the questions I get most before an in-home newborn session is: “What do I actually need to DO to get ready?”

And my honest answer? So much less than you think. Promise.

Here’s what I always tell my newborn families before I show up at their door:

Tidy, But Don’t Stress

You just had a baby. Your home doesn’t need to be Pinterest-perfect — it just needs to feel like *yours*. Clear off a surface or two, and let the natural light do the rest.

Plan Around the Feed

A full baby is a sleepy baby, and a sleepy baby is basically my dream client. Try to nurse or feed right before I arrive and we’ll be golden.

Warm It Up

I know, I know — but trust me on this one. Bumping the thermostat to around 75–78°F keeps baby cozy and settled, especially during any swaddle-free moments. You can blame me if your partner complains.

After that, it’s simple: relax and enjoy your sweet new baby; let me handle the rest.

Happy February, friends! ❄️ I’ve been in full winter hibernation mode over here — snuggling with my pup, reading by the fire, drinking way too much coffee, and generally trying to remember what sunshine feels like. But I’m finally ready to get back to sharing more of the sweet families and seniors I photographed last year. If you’ve been quietly waiting for warmer golden hours… same. Let’s thaw out together. ☀️
