There are some sessions that just mean a little **more**. šŸ„¹šŸ¤

Natasha + Colby’s engagement session was absolutely one of them.

The story actually starts before Natasha and I were even friends. She watched me photograph one of her friend’s weddings and apparently told herself, **ā€œI HAVE to have her photograph my wedding someday.ā€** 😭

Fast forward to last November… I hired Natasha to start second shooting weddings alongside me.

And somewhere between photographing love stories together, wedding-day chaos, laughing until we cry and spending A LOT of Saturdays side-by-side… she became one of the sweetest friends I didn’t even know I needed. šŸ„¹šŸ¤

And now I get to photograph **HER love story.**

Like… are you kidding me?! 😭

We headed to Buckley Homestead for their engagement session, and Natasha told me beforehand that her DREAM would be to somehow get photos with the cows.

Wellllll… **THE COWS UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT.** šŸ˜‚šŸ„

They came right over, the light was dreamy, Natasha + Colby were completely adorable, and the entire evening felt like one of those little gifts from God where everything just comes together better than you could have planned.

Natasha + Colby, I seriously love you guys. šŸ¤ Getting to be on this side of the camera with you, Tash, and watching the way Colby loves you made my heart SO happy.

From *ā€œI HAVE to have her photograph my wedding somedayā€*… to working weddings beside me… to becoming one of my besties… to **THIS.** 🄹

What a full-circle kind of blessing.

And now I seriously cannot WAIT for the wedding!!!! šŸ¤āœØ

There are some wedding days that you leave feeling like you didn’t just photograph a wedding… you got to become a tiny part of someone’s story. šŸ¤

Madison + Bryson’s wedding at Blissful Barn was exactly that.

These two traveled from Tennessee to celebrate alongside the people they love most—Madison’s family coming from Mississippi, Bryson’s family from north of Chicago—and somehow all of those places came together for the sweetest day filled with the most perfect Southern charm. 🄹

And THE EMOTIONS. 😭 There were tears from the very beginning, followed almost immediately by laughter… and that pretty much continued all day long. From Madison sharing such sweet moments with her mom, who also had the honor of being her Maid of Honor, to the way Bryson looked at his bride, to the joy that absolutely surrounded these two everywhere they went.

At one point, one of Madison’s friends said something to me that I don’t think I’ll ever forget:

ā€œThank you for loving my friends as much as we do. We can clearly see that you really are excited to be here as much as we are.ā€

😭😭😭

And THAT is exactly how I felt.

I genuinely loved these two. I loved their families. I loved their friends. I loved the laughter, the happy tears, the Southern sweetness, and getting to witness two people who are so deeply loved begin this next chapter together.

Madison + Bryson, thank you for letting me into your little corner of the world for a day. It was an absolute joy and privilege to tell this part of your story. šŸ¤

Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Steinke!! šŸ„‚āœØ

PHOTOGRAPHER FRIENDS! šŸ“ø I need your help! šŸ’—

I’m working on something new specifically for wedding photographers, but before I get too far into creating anything, I want to make sure I’m actually listening to what photographers need instead of assuming I know!

I’m looking for 5 wedding photographers who are currently photographing paid weddings but are still growing and figuring out the business side of photography to hop on a quick 20-minute Zoom call with me.

I want to hear about what feels easy, what feels HARD, what you’re struggling with behind the scenes, and what you wish you had more help or guidance with.

This is purely research — I promise I’m not going to try to sell you anything! šŸ˜‚ I genuinely just want to listen and learn.

And as a little thank-you for giving me your time, I’d love to give you 20 minutes afterward to pick my brain about YOUR photography business. Ask me anything you want — client communication, wedding days, workflows, client experience, difficult situations… whatever you’re currently trying to figure out!

If this sounds like you and you’d be willing to chat with me, comment ā€œI’m in!ā€ below or send me a message! 🄰

I seriously appreciate you helping me with this! šŸ’—

There are some wedding days that feel extra special before they even begin… and this was absolutely one of them.
A few years ago, I had the privilege of photographing Irelynn’s brother’s wedding, so getting to come back and photograph another beautiful chapter for this family meant more to me than I can say. šŸ„¹šŸ¤

And what a day it was.

Irelynn and Sam’s wedding was filled with so much faith, love, joy, and genuine excitement to finally become husband and wife. They chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but shared the sweetest first touch and private vows together—and there is just something about standing on opposite sides of a wall, hearing the voice of the person you’re about to spend forever with, that gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 😭

Then came Irelynn’s first look with her dad… followed by her brothers joining them. 🄹 Knowing I had already been there to photograph such an important day for their family years ago made those moments feel even sweeter.

And can we talk about THAT CEREMONY?! šŸ˜ For the first time at Aberdeen Manor, they held their ceremony down by the pond—which just so happens to already be one of my absolute FAVORITE places there for bride and groom portraits. The trees, the water, their family and friends gathered around them, and the cross standing at the center of it all… it could not have been more beautiful. šŸ¤

But after all those sweet, emotional moments…
THE PARTY STARTED. šŸ˜‚šŸ”„

And you guys… this dance floor was WILD in the absolute best way. šŸ˜‚ From beginning to end, this day was filled with people who were genuinely SO excited to celebrate these two—and it showed.

Irelynn + Sam, thank you for trusting me to capture such a beautiful, faith-filled beginning to your marriage. It was truly an honor to be welcomed back into your family for another wedding day. šŸ¤

May these photos always remind you not only of how beautiful your wedding was, but of the love that surrounded you, the promises you made, and the One who brought you together.

Some sessions just remind you that the weather doesn't get to decide the joy. šŸ¤

The skies were dark, the forecast wasn't exactly on our side, and we kept waiting for the rain to start... but somehow, Kelsey and Brandon brought all the sunshine we needed.

There was so much laughter, so many quiet smiles, and the sweetest kind of excitement that comes from knowing you're only weeks away from saying "I do."

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to slow down before the busyness of a wedding day. It's a chance to simply celebrate this season—to remember that before the timeline, the flowers, and all the details... there were just two people that God brought together.

Watching the way Brandon looks at Kelsey and the joy they share together makes me even more excited for what's waiting for them next month.

I truly cannot wait to celebrate these two and capture the beginning of their marriage. šŸ¤

See you so soon, Kelsey & Brandon!!

Sometimes the best love stories take a little longer to write... but they're worth every page. šŸ¤

Saturday was one of those wedding days that reminded me that God's timing is always so much sweeter than our own.

Elizabeth and Michael waited a long time to find each other, and when they finally did... you could feel just how grateful they were. Every smile, every happy tear, every glance across the room carried the joy of two people who knew exactly what they had been waiting for.

There were so many moments that made this day unforgettable. 🄹

From the beautiful way Elizabeth honored her dad throughout the day... to the excitement of their first touch before the ceremony... to the absolute celebration that followed when they finally became husband and wife.

And then came one of my favorite surprises... šŸš’
Michael is a firefighter, and Elizabeth secretly arranged for his fire truck to be brought over for portraits! His reaction was priceless, and it made for such a fun, personal part of their day.

Oh... and the rain? ā˜”ļø
It showed up, but it definitely didn't steal the celebration. If anything, it slowed everyone down just enough to soak in every moment. We embraced it, laughed through it, and created some beautiful memories because of it.

Elizabeth & Michael... thank you for trusting me to tell your story. Your wedding was filled with so much laughter, so much love, and the kind of joy that reminds us that some things are absolutely worth waiting for.

There are moments in this job that remind me just how beautiful it is to witness God's faithfulness unfold.

Last year, I stood behind my camera as Morganne and Kyle promised forever to one another. They even share my wedding anniversary, which has always made their story feel a little extra special to me.

This week, I had the incredible honor of photographing another chapter of that same story.

As we walked along the beach with the waves quietly rolling in and the most beautiful evening light surrounding us, I couldn't help but think about how gracious God is. The same hands that joined them together in marriage are now knitting together the sweetest little life.

What a privilege it is to watch love grow.
Morganne and Kyle, thank you for trusting me to document another milestone in your journey. Your joy is contagious, your love is steadfast, and this little one is already so deeply loved.

I truly believe children are one of God's greatest reminders that He is always writing a story bigger than the one we can see. I cannot wait to watch yours continue.

Congratulations, sweet friends. šŸ¤

From the moment I arrived at Blumen Gardens, there was a quiet calm that settled over the entire day. Between the gentle breeze through the willow trees, the stillness of the gardens, and the anticipation of what was to come, it felt like the world slowed down just long enough for Rachael and Sam to soak it all in.

Their first look was one of my favorite moments. They exchanged private vows, and there wasn't a dry eye around. It wasn't rushed or performative—it was simply two people choosing each other, away from the crowd, before the celebration began.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was watching Sam's dad stand at the front of the ceremony and officiate their marriage. There is something incredibly special about being pronounced husband and wife by someone who has loved and prayed for you your entire life. It made an already beautiful ceremony feel even more personal.

Rachael and Sam, thank you for inviting me into such a sacred day. Your wedding was filled with quiet moments, joyful laughter, and so much genuine love. It was an honor to tell your story, and I pray these images always bring you back to exactly how it felt. šŸ¤
