I remember from college on, trying to find the best point and shoot cameras. Obviously I had a very small budget, but “what could I afford that would give me the best photos” was the goal. Fast forward some years, and I was expecting a baby. I reached out to a few of the best local newborn photographers, and I understand you get what you pay for…. But I could not afford their rates. After purchasi

ng formula, diapers, and medical bills – it felt as though that was not going to be our best option. I purchased a SLR instead, and made it my goal to make it more affordable for families like mine. I took some college classes and learned the basics. Took thousands of photos for everyone I could as an enthusiastic hobbyist, self-learned photo editing software, and stumbled into the photographer I am today. I am still trying to offer my best all while keeping a families budget in mind. I try to be as flexible and accommodating with families as I can be because I know what being a mom feels like. Photos shouldn’t be stressful, and that is why I am where I am today!

This session definitely had a mind of its own! We originally planned for the end of September at Granite Lake, but Wyoming rainstorm had other plans, so we moved things to Labor Day with a plan to stay local. AND just in time for another round of moody skies and rain surrounding us!!

The mosquitoes apparently wanted to be apart of their session too... I'm pretty sure I left with over two dozen bites (still discovering new ones) - and I know they were getting attacked pretty badly as well 😬. The only time I've had a mosquito attack this entire year!

Mom was absolutely wonderful from start to finish, and I've loved getting to know her throughout the process. Also, thank you for being so patient and for even embracing the mosquitos as well. Enjoy the sneak peek, and a huge thank you for trusting me with your family's photos this year! 🤍

Another Central High Senior in the books!

I've been loving photographing at Granite Lake lately, and last night did not disappoint. That sunset was absolutely superb!

This senior and I had an absolute blast during his session... although I left wondering if we were actually still friends or not 🤣 (inside joke to having him step through sticker weeds, kneeling FOREVER while I adjusted my camera settings, white spider in his sock, and he carried my heavy stool in the middle of a field... just to name a few things 😉😜). I'm pretty sure he survived the session after I text his mom this morning with a photo AI helped me edit to include a top hat, mustache, and beard - she confirmed he actually thought the session was ok.

AND just wait until you see another preview coming soon - he'll be making an appearance in his ROTC uniform, and I am already so excited to photograph that soon.

Mom, you were absolutly wonderful, too! Thank you both so much for trusting me to capture this special time. It was such a fun evening, and I'm loving ow these images are coming together!

Last night I had the sweetest senior session with this beautiful Central High School senior. ❤️🖤

She was soft-spoken, incredibly polite, and had the most beautiful smile, the kind of smile that makes photographing someone so easy and natural. And bringing her violin was such an amazing surprise! It added such a beautiful, personal touch to her senior session and gave us some of my favorite images from the evening. I loved incorporating all her special pieces that is such a special part of who she is. 🎻🐰

I've had the honor of photographing her older sister's senior portraits over the past few years, so having their family come back to me for another senior session means more than they probably realize. It's such a privilege when families trust me with these milestones again and again. I'm so glad our paths crossed once more, and I truly hope this is just one of many more photography encounters with this wonderful family. 🤍

As promised... here's a little more from this beautiful families Rawlins session! 🤍

I shared that fun black-and-white Coke bottle sneak peek right after their session a couple of weeks ago, and I knew I couldn't stop there. These images are turning out SO beautifully! From the genuine smiles and little moments, this session was amazing to photograph.

Rawlins, you sure gave us some beautiful scenery... and this family brought all the magic!

A little later getting these posted than I originally planned, but they were definitely worth the wait!

This beautiful family has been coming to me almost every year for their family photos for many years, and I truly love getting to spend time with them and catch up each time. And of course, their sweet fur baby always comes along - I absolutely adore their puppy!

We had a bit of wind and an overcast sky during their session, but honestly, it made for some of the most beautiful, soft images. I'm so thankful they continue to trust me to capture these memories for them year after year! 💛🐾

Some sessions come together because of a beautiful location. Others come together because of a beautiful idea - and this one was definitely both!

This amazing family from Rawlins joined me Saturday, and Mom came to me with the idea for a session inspired by some incredible images she had seen featuring a white-rock backdrop (mostly black and whites). My mother-in-law helped me find the most amazing spot, and honestly... the idea came together even better than I'd imagined! These images are phenomenal! 🤍🖤

This is my first time sharing an entire post in black and white, and I couldn't resist with this gallery. There will absolutely be a second post because their family session deserves its own spotlight, but this captures the fun side of this family so perfectly.

The kids laughing, everyone just being themselves, sharing a soda, and enjoying each other... because really, what could be better? These are the moments I love most - the ones that aren't perfect, but they feel real!

Some sessions just have a really good rhythm to them - this Friday night's family session in Rawlins was exactly that! 🐾

Good conversation, lots of laughs, a beautiful family, and one VERY handsome four-legged family member who definitely understood the assignment (and if he didn't he was well aware of all the treats he was going to get then and at home). I sure hope he enjoyed his ice cream.

They were the kind of people that you can sit down with and immediately feel comfortable around. Easy to talk to, genuinely sweet, and just amazing to photograph.

I'm so incredibly grateful for the Carbon County clientele I've had the opportunity to build over the last couple of years. Getting to photograph families throughout Rawlins, Sinclair, Saratoga, and the surrounding has become such a special part of my business. That every time I head that direction for a session, I'm reminded how lucky I am to have such wonderful people trusting me, rooting me on, and welcoming me to photograph their families.

Thank you for a wonderful evening and for letting me capture a little piece of your family story. I hope I will see you all again! 💛
