In the book of John it's written that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. John testifies that this was 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' Followed by the verse quoted above. It's a remarkable chapter to ponder explaining that "the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." The Word and Light to the world.
