A close-up of prime rib has a job to do. So does the photograph of someone bringing it to the table.

One shows the food’s texture and preparation. The other shows hospitality in action. Add cocktails against the warm glow of the bar, and you begin to see the character of the place.

That variety is a deliberate part of commercial photography.

When we plan a restaurant session, we consider the dishes, the service, the surroundings, and how the photographs will be used. A menu feature needs a clear look at the food. A website can introduce the people and atmosphere. A social post can give a familiar customer something new to look forward to.

These three photographs from our work with T‑Joe’s Steakhouse each contribute something different. Together, they give the restaurant more ways to communicate while staying true to the experience it offers.

Here’s a useful way to review your own business photographs: Look at them as a customer. What do they help you understand, and what’s still missing?

That’s a conversation we enjoy having. Tell us what you want people to know about your business, and we’ll help you plan photographs that show it.

Real estate photography should do more than simply make a room appear bright and spacious. It should help prospective buyers understand the home, how the rooms connect, where the natural light enters, and what living there might actually feel like.

As a locally owned Cheyenne photography studio, we understand that homes here are not all the same. From established neighborhoods and older homes with character to new construction and rural properties, each deserves to be photographed with care and represented honestly.

We photograph every property at its best while remaining true to what it is.

Beautifully presented. Honestly represented.

We are often asked, "what Is a Commercial Photographer"?

Most people know what a photographer does, but the term commercial photographer may be less familiar.

Commercial photography is imagery created specifically to help a business communicate, market, and grow. It includes everything from food and hospitality photography to real estate, professional branding, products, architecture, entertainment, marketing, and the people behind a company, brand or label.

Like many professions, photography becomes increasingly specialized through years of experience.

A physician and a cardiothoracic surgeon are both doctors. The surgeon, however, has taken that broad foundation and developed a highly focused understanding of a particular field, its intricate processes, specialized challenges, and desired outcomes.

Photography works in much the same way.

A commercial photographer is still a photographer, but the work requires a deeper understanding of how images function in business. It means considering the client’s industry, intended audience, brand identity, where the photographs will appear, and what those images ultimately need to accomplish.

The process does not begin with picking up a camera. It begins with listening.

What does this business offer?
Who does it serve?
What makes it different?
What should someone understand or feel when they see its images?

Commercial photography also involves something many people may never have considered: proper commercial licensing.

A photograph created for a business must be licensed for its intended commercial use, whether that is a website, social media, advertising, printed materials, signage, or another form of promotion. Clear licensing gives the business documented permission to use the images appropriately and helps protect both the client and the photographer. It is an important part of safeguarding a company’s image, professionalism, and credibility.

Beautiful photographs certainly matter, but in commercial photography, beauty alone is not enough. The images must also be accurate, purposeful, consistent, properly licensed, and created around the specific needs of the client.

That is the specialization.

At Davissa Photography, our job is not simply to photograph what a business has. It is to understand what that business needs to communicate, and then create professional imagery prepared to do that work clearly, honestly, and effectively.

Before a guest tastes the food, they have already made a decision about it.

They saw the photograph.

They noticed the color, the texture, the atmosphere and, almost instantly, decided whether they could imagine themselves sitting at that table.

That is why good food photography must do more than make a plate look impressive. It should create appetite without exaggeration, preserve the character of the restaurant and show guests something they can trust. The goal isn’t to manufacture a fantasy. It is to reveal what is already worth experiencing.

At Davissa Photography, we photograph real food, prepared by real kitchens, with the care and professional experience it deserves. Because when your food carries your name, its image should carry your standards.

If your restaurant or food service company is ready for photography that looks inviting, polished and unmistakably real, we would love to visit with you.

A strong real estate image does more than show a room. It reveals how a home lives.

The graceful archways, original hardwood floors, generous natural light, and easy connection between these gathering spaces speak to the enduring character of this historic home in Cheyenne’s Avenues.

Our approach to real estate photography begins by recognizing what makes each property distinctive. We photograph with care and intention, showing the flow, atmosphere, architectural details, and sense of place that help prospective buyers understand not only what a home looks like, but what it might feel like to live there.

Because effective real estate photography should never misrepresent a property. It should recognize its strengths and present them beautifully.

Beautifully presented. Honestly represented.

Davissa Photography provides professional real estate photography for homes, rental properties, and distinctive spaces throughout Cheyenne, Laramie, and the surrounding area.

A great restaurant is about far more than what arrives on the plate.

It is the glow of the bar. The practiced hands behind it. The sound of conversation across the room. The careful pour that turns a simple drink into the beginning of a memorable evening.

That is what hospitality photography should capture, not merely products, but the experience surrounding them.

Our work with T-Joe’s Steakhouse & Saloon gave us the opportunity to photograph the food, drinks, people and unmistakable Western character that make this Cheyenne restaurant what it is. Every image was created inside the restaurant, during the rhythm of an actual working day, with the goal of telling its story honestly and beautifully.

Because strong commercial photography should do more than show people what you offer.

It should make them want to experience it.

Real food deserves real photography. So do the people and places behind it.

A product photograph should do more than prove the product exists.

It should make someone feel something.

The right details and environment can suggest a memory, create a mood, or place the viewer inside a familiar ritual. In this image, the product, the cigar, is unmistakably the star, but the shaving mug, brush, light and texture give it a world to live in.

That is where effective product photography moves beyond documentation and becomes advertising.

Details establish the product.

Environment gives it meaning.

Feeling makes it memorable.

Davissa Photography creates intentional commercial imagery for products, businesses and brands that deserve to be remembered.

Good food doesn’t need to be invented. It needs to be seen.

The crisp edges of the bacon. The toast fresh from the grill. The eggs exactly as they’ll arrive at the table. These are the details that make someone stop scrolling and start deciding where they want to eat.

Your customers aren’t looking for an imaginary version of what you serve. They want to see the real food you prepare, and have a reason to come experience it for themselves.

Real food deserves real photography.

Real food deserves real photography.

Your food is part of your reputation. Before someone tastes it, smells it, or sits down at your table, there's a good chance they'll meet it through a photograph.

We photograph food the way people experience it, up close, dimensional, honest and inviting. Because when a chef, restaurant owner or food maker puts real care into what they serve, the photography representing it should carry that same care.

We work with restaurants, chefs, caterers, hospitality businesses and food makers who put real care into what they create, and want that same care reflected in the photographs that represent them.

Real food deserves real photography.
