Happy Mother's Day to all the awesome Moms out there. This is a quick, fun little video showcasing some of the Sparks baseball Moms and their boys that we captured before their game yesterday. This was the "second annual" photoshoot and I very much look forward to next year's three-peat. Seeing the kiddos with their Mammas (and Grandmammas) year after year is truly a joy and a privilege. (PS: they won the game!)

The rumors were true- we shot a softball game between the St. Charles North High School North Stars and the Lincoln-Way East High School Griffins. (No YOU had to look up what a Griffin is......) Congrats to the Stars for the win!

Word on the street is I'll be shooting a softball game tomorrow evening. I haven't shot too many softball games, but I'm always so impressed by the genuine comraderie that radiates from a good softball team. And it always seems to start with the coach.

Related: Let's just say I'm glad the new rules in baseball encourage a more...*ahem*... aggressive baserunning game.

(This shot was from a couple of years ago when we shot an Illinois Bash Softball game. And I would bet my old Toyota Corolla that young lady is still playing on some team somewhere....)

Play Ball! 'When JA Snaps' is open for the business of baseball. One of the things I love about shooting baseball is capturing interesting shapes and silhouettes.

It might be a pitcher's lean...the loud circles of the ball park lights...an on-point pair of baseball socks...or as was the case on Saturday between the Blue Island Cubs and the Mets at Ozinga Field: a stretch in the dark by the light of the diamond.

Different Field/Different Dreams. Here are some of my favorite moments from the Hagerstown Indiana Little League v South Laurel Little League final in the Little League World Series Great Lakes Regional. While the Cub/Reds were warming up alongside cornstalks, the mighty speck of blue were duking it out in a field of purple in Whitestone, Indiana. Hagerstown eventually punched their ticket to the Little League World Series and my oh my what a ride.

The first two two shots are the moments before/after a tide-changing challenge at second base. The second two are extra-inning delights for a team representing a town of only 20,000 residents. I covered the game with my buddy Ed over at JustAllSports and will post the story with more game photos soon.

What a great experience. What a well-run tournament out there in Whitestone Indiana. What a game. Hats off to the class acts from Kentucky, and congrats to the victors. Good luck in the Big Game in Williamsport!

Ok. Finally: I's dotted. T's crossed. All FB roads have led me to this ONE consolidated biz page: When JA Snaps.

And to kick it off I will now circle back and post this shot from the Midwest Suburban Baseball League 's match between the Chicago Elite and the The Chicago Browns last Thursday, June 30th. Nothing is better than good baseball played at a lovely stadium (Impact Field in Rosemont) between teams that respect the game like these guys do.

(Henry, get those boys to throw you a ten spot each and bring me back soon while I still have availability. :)

I invite the rest of the teams in the league to hire me to capture a game. You're too good for an iPhone picture...

I only shoot one team at a time these days - if I'm hired to capture your team's battle I don't want to miss a big moment because I was focused on your opponent.
