My name is Mike Killion and I’ve basically been a photographer my whole life. Taking interest in cameras from a young age around my parents and on vacations as a child, led me to pursuing a photography degree from Columbia College Chicago. Since then I’ve specialized in sports and movement with a lifestyle focus, primarily shooting commercial and editorial campaigns, you can see more of that work

It wasn’t until recently, when our son Landon was born, that I realized how much people (including myself) love to get great family photos each year (or month, or week, or day). I recognized how hard it can be to get that special moment on camera or catch the perfect candid; and I realize now how precious and fleeting it can all be. That's why I decided to stretch my skill sets into Sunnyside Studios where I can bring all my experiences of the photo world to the families that are looking for a real life moment to be captured and framed on their walls forever.
