Spring in Charleston means the locals are back out. 🐊

Warmer temps, greener marshes, and prehistoric eyes just above the waterline. Lowcountry spring at its finest.

From business hub to spiritual haven, Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque is a must-see. This magnificent structure dominates the city's skyline and showcases the beauty of Moroccan architecture. As the largest mosque in Morocco and the second-largest in Africa, it's an experience not to be missed.

Essaouira is a magical seaside city about 3 hrs drive from Marrakech.

On the route to, we stopped at an argan cooperative where they have been manually breaking down the argan nut to make beauty products out of the oils. The argan nut is only grown in this area of the world and where famously goats climb into trees to eat parts of the nut.

Once in the city, we explored the beach, the fish market with incredible fresh seafood, oysters and ceviche, the city walls all before heading into the Medina. Had a great lunch at .essaouira and ended with a couple Casablanca beers overlooking the beach and Atlantic Ocean.

This was one of the highlights of the trip and highly recommend for future travels.

Fes is a sprawling city with an extensive Medina. Unlike Marrakech, Fes’s Medina doesn’t allow cars which makes it more enjoyable to explore. Fes is known for producing leather goods from their famous tanneries where they continue to use traditional methods to breakdown hides of camels, goats, and cows to create jackets, bags, pouf ottomans, slippers and more.

Fes is also a great base to see other cities in the region such as Chefchoen, Meknes, & Volubilis.

✈️ from EWR — 6.5 hr flight
🏨 — Many travelers opt to stay in local Riads that are nestled within the Medina for an authentic experience but can be challenging lugging suitcases and navigating thru the bustling area. Our hotel was a great middle ground to the New and Old city.

Top Sites:
1-Koutoubia: Nearly 900 yrs old, this is the largest Mosque in Marrakesh and is visible from almost every rooftop in the area. Our favorite rooftop was

2-Madrasa Ben Youssef: Formally a university that is now known for its courtyard and architecture. Go when it opens as it can quickly get crowded. After, check out the Marrakesh Museum that houses contemporary art pieces as well as old artifacts.

3-Jardin Majorelle: This extensive garden was one of my favorite places to explore. Buy your tickets ahead of time and plan to go early.

4-El Badi Palace: A place to simply check out for the one famous photo, otherwise it’s a bunch of ruins that are trying to be remodeled. The palace is located in the Jewish Quarter and is central to other cool sites like the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, & Tinsmiths Square.

Tips: Cash is king — Confirm/negotiate cab fares ahead of getting in and embrace the chaos of their driving — Be prepared to be heckled!

Had another incredible trip with my Dad, this time to Morocco. This was our 6th continent and a bucket list trip we both have been waiting to do.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time traveling across the country experiencing the culture, meeting interesting people, experiencing the Medina life, and eating some incredible food.

1-Marrakesh Medina
2-Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakesh
3-Casablanca
4-Essaouira
5-Fes Tannery

Chasing Waves in Laguna Beach

Spent a morning on vacation with my lens focused on some incredible surfers carving through the glassy sets. There’s something special about freezing that split-second when board meets wave.

Just back from a weekend getaway to breathtaking Hilton Head Island, and I'm still drawn to the charm of its famous lighthouse and harbor. The moody morning light made for a perfect photo op.
