Things your Chicago wedding photographer is thinking… but might not say out loud. 👀📸

If those gorgeous bridal suite getting-ready photos with your bridesmaids in matching pajamas and champagne are on your wedding-day shot list, the room matters just as much as the outfits.

Suitcases. Lunch bags. Half-empty water bottles. Makeup everywhere. Shopping bags. Towels. Yesterday’s clothes. 😅 All of it WILL show up in your photos.

And yes—I will absolutely rally the troops and help clear a space when I arrive. But there’s an even better wedding morning hack:

Assign one bridesmaid to be the “photo-ready room” person.

You don’t need the entire hotel suite spotless. Just protect one beautiful area near the best window light. Keep bags, food, trash and personal belongings out of that space so when it’s time for bridal getting-ready photos, we can start shooting instead of spending 15 minutes rearranging the hotel room.

That means more time for champagne, pajamas, portraits and actually enjoying your wedding morning. 🥂

Your editorial portrait session doesn’t have to mean dressing like someone else.

For The Authentic You, I want the version of you your favorite people recognize immediately — your favorite jeans, the sweater you practically live in, your worn-in button-down, an apron, something connected to your work or hobby, or whatever makes you feel completely at home in your own skin.

Because some of the strongest editorial portraits aren’t about transforming you. They’re about photographing you with intention.

I’m creating Vanity Fair–inspired editorial portraits in Chicago from my Garfield Park studio, combining elevated studio lighting, thoughtful posing and personal storytelling for portraits that feel polished without losing the person in them.

I don't think I've been this excited to unwrap a delivery in a long time.

Bring the statement pieces. The jewelry. The shoes. The jacket you never have anywhere dramatic enough to wear. Bring texture, layers, accessories and anything that helps tell your story. We’re creating editorial portraits with personality — not stiff studio headshots.

I'm beyond excited to introduce a new experience at Garbero Photography in the Humboldt Park / Garfield Park area of Chicago.

For years, I've dreamed of creating portraits that feel like they belong in the pages of Vanity Fair—timeless, cinematic, and completely centered around you.

These aren't just headshots. They're editorial portraits designed to tell your story.

We'll build your session around your personality, your wardrobe, and your confidence. Whether your style is classic and tailored, bold and avant-garde, effortlessly authentic, or completely outside the box, we'll create artwork that feels worthy of a magazine cover.

Before launch, I'm looking for a small group of people to participate in TFP (Time for Print) trial sessions as I fine-tune the experience and continue building my editorial portrait portfolio.
