IT’S FINALLY HERE!

After 25 years making the photographs and years spent writing, editing, designing, and obsessing over every page, the book is finally in my hands!

Nikki and I (and our little beagle, Flo) celebrated with Bryan, my amazing editor, and Bob, who read an early manuscript, loved it, and then made a few things happen that pushed the book across the finish line.

Champagne was involved. There were a LOT of boxes!

The signed, numbered hardcover is now shipping: 304 pages, 240 photographs, and my wild and unusual story behind the 25 years I spent creating the images.

I managed to ship half of the patron copies before leaving for an upcoming show. I’m hoping to send the rest next week. Some of you may find a surprise on your doorstep very soon :)

Today I gave the printer the thumbs-up on the final proofs for the book! Flo conducted her independent review, mostly sniffs, and she approved.
If everything stays on schedule, Alleys & Ruins should begin making its way to everyone who pre-ordered within a month. After years of work, this is feeling very real!

I’ll be showing a selection of photographs, including from the Alleys & Ruins and Light Paintings, with special open studio pricing at up to 75% below gallery prices.

It’s a rare chance to see my studio and other artist studios, view prints in person, and explore one of Chicago’s largest working artist communities.

The book I've been working on for over a decade is finally finished!
I went out 1,200 times over 25 years, into dark alleys and abandoned ruins in the middle of the night with a 50 year old camera. What made me keep going back, despite the danger and all the close calls?
