My formative years HOOD

NO SHOOTINGS. ALL WEEKEND.

While much of Chicago experienced violence over Juneteenth weekend, Woodlawn stood strong.

What was once called the most dangerous block in America saw zero shootings.

This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because neighbors cared, leaders showed up, and our Violence Prevention Team stood in the gap.

Today, we celebrate peace. We celebrate progress. We celebrate what is possible when a community comes together.

Thank you to every outreach worker, volunteer, resident, and partner who helped make this happen.

Woodlawn Strong. Peace is winning.

Work I'm proud of!

The Theme for this series was inspired by the scene outside of my living room window. I'm always wondering about the travels of the peoople that I view meandering through their day. Are they making the decisions that they make based on the expected outcome of their day.
Once faced with the different choices do they make the righ one.

The trains represent the link between dreams and reality
The trees represent strength and protection
The viaducts and bridges represent the unknown.
