Long post incoming: I have been doing a series of self portraits this year as a way to process everything that’s happened in the last year of my life. This is set number three and the first one that I feel comfortable sharing with the world for the moment. I was inspired by Crazy Bitch by Madelline for this set.

I was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, OCD and PTSD in 2023 and subsequently went on Lexapro. Then in 2025, after being told my period symptoms were normal for a decade, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. This diagnosis came after an additional 8 month journey of symptoms more severe than ever with multiple doctors telling me endometriosis could not be possible. While dealing with this, I also added a diagnosis of Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

I was hard on myself for my increasing lack of energy and accepting being chronically ill has been hard. I take a lot of medications now to manage both my physical and mental health. Thanks to these medications I have the energy to do the things I love to do more often than not.
