Chicago, IL – Adopt Tommy the Gorgeous & Sweet FeLV+ Cat

Tommy is a gorgeous and sweet, four-year-old, 11.7-pound, male, golden-eyed, orange and white tabby cat looking for a loving guardian.

Tommy has tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLV) so he can only live with cats who also carry the virus, or with dogs! He is actually living at a doggie daycare and is absolutely fine with dogs.

Tommy is well-behaved in the home and great with his litter box. Because he faced food insecurity on the streets, now he’s living happily indoors and has turned into quite the chubby foodie. He’s gained three pounds since coming to the rescue.

With those he loves, Tommy is quite sweet and snuggly. He loves ipad games and hanging out with his peeps. He’s also very talkative and engaging.

He’s a healthy dude with an ear tip acknowledging that he was TNR’d (trapped, neutered and relased). Tommy is vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and microchipped.

FeLV is a type of virus that can spread via saliva, f***s, urine and milk. Some cats are born with the virus; it can also spread through cat colonies.

To meet and possibly adopt Tommy, please fill out an adoption application https://friendsofpetraits.com/cat-adoption-application/

After the application is complete, please contact [email protected] to schedule an appointment to meet him.

His adoption fee of $175 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue.

He is being fostered in Chicago.

Chicago, IL – Adopt Xander the Golden-Eyed Tabby Tuxedo Cat

Xander is a talkative, gorgeous and incredibly sweet 10-month-old, 9-pound, male brown tabby and white tuxedo cat with golden amber eyes looking for a loving guardian.

This super sweet young guy was rescued after being found in a feral colony. He was a bit shy at first and not great about being picked up, but LOVES to snuggle – especially in bed.

Xander is perfectly well-behaved in the home and uses his litter box like a good boy. He loves toys, and drools and purrs when being loved by his human.

He is dewormed, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, and virus-tested negative. He was also treated with Revolution as flea prevention. He’s ear-tipped because we assumed he was a feral cat. But, he’s so friendly and far from feral.

To meet and possibly adopt handsome and loving Xander, please fill out an adoption application https://friendsofpetraits.com/cat-adoption-application/

After the application is complete, please contact [email protected] to schedule an appointment to meet him.

His adoption fee of $175 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. He is currently being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.

He knows the commands sit and paw and is ready to learn more! He is housebroken, crate-trained and well-behaved in the home.

He loves men and women equally, including guests to his home, and is possibly the most cuddly dog you’ve ever met.

Hank is healthy, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, leptospirosis and bordetella vaccines, heartworm and lyme-tested negative, microchipped, and de-wormed.

Chicago, IL – Foster/Adopt Kyrie the Loyal and Loving German Shepherd

Kyrie is a 75-pound, six-year-old, calm, loyal and loving, German Shepherd dog looking for a loving guardian.

Kyrie adores his people. His foster mom reports that she wakes up to his face on her pillow. No crate needed, Kyrie is perfectly housebroken and non-destructive.

Kyrie walks well on leash; however, he can be reactive to other dogs.

While he is friendly to most people who come to his home, he can be protective to people who approach his foster mom on walks.

He is looking for a true shepherd-lover as the one and only pet – preferably with a fenced in yard. He is accustomed to being a yard dog and not well-socialized to all the new things you run into while out on a walk. While Kyrie doesn’t appear to understand specific commands, he is intuitive and takes treats gently from your fingers.

Kyrie is healthy, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and bordetella heartworm-tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

His adoption fee of $300 benefits the rescues of Famous Fido’s. To meet and possibly foster or adopt Kyrie, please fill out an adoption application https://famousfidorescue.org/dog-adoption-application/ follow up to meet him by e-mailing [email protected]

Chicago, IL – Foster/Adopt Lovable Romeo the American Bulldog-Mix

Romeo is a 65-pound, four-year-old, loyal, strong and loving, white and tan American Bulldog (or mix) looking for a loving one week temporary foster and a permanent guardian.

Romeo is looking for someone who appreciates a hunk of a dog who loves walks and being loved. He’d love all your attention as the one and only pet in the home. He is full of slobbery kisses and tail wags for the people he loves.

He thrills to lay on a comfy dog bed at your feet as you work, or chill and binge watch shows with you.

He's also up for a game of tug of war or playing a little fetch with a tennis ball!

Romeo is great in the car while strapped into the back seat (otherwise he’ll end up trying to cuddle in your lap.) He is fantastic during baths and he loves a rubdown and sinks into your touch.

Romeo is a healthy hunk, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, bordetella and leptospirosis, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative, fecal-tested, dewormed, and microchipped. Romeo is housebroken, and can also be crated.

He does have a habit of jumping up when excited, so he’s still in training mode and best with a stronger person with dog-loving children who are over 10 years of age, and no other pets in the home.

His adoption fee has been paid by a generous supporter and he comes with absolutely everything you need to care for him. To meet and possibly foster or adopt Romeo, please fill out an adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/dog-adoption-application/ and follow up to meet him by e-mailing [email protected]

She is dewormed, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies and distemper and virus-tested. She uses her litter box perfectly, and has a healthy appetite.

Chicago, IL – Adopt Whiskey the Affectionate Tuxedo

Whiskey is a hunk of an incredibly sweet, cuddly, golden-eyed two-year-old, 13.5-pound black and white tuxedo male cat looking for a loving guardian.

Whiskey was found dining in a feral colony. He is beautifully socialized and loving. He is not at all feral, had no collar with tags and wasn’t microchipped, so the colony caretaker brought him home with her.

This silly boy rolls on his back and purrs for belly rubs!

He is dewormed and treated with Revolution as a preventative for fleas and mites. He is scheduled to be neutered, microchipped, and virus-tested on Tuesday May 26th. He uses his litter box perfectly, and has a healthy appetite. He loves his treats, churus and canned food!

Chicago, IL – Adopt Guinea Pig Sisters Ethel & Eleanor

Ethel and Eleanor are one-year-old female smooth coat American guinea pigs looking for a loving guardian.

These girls get along with each other beautifully. They are also well-behaved with other equally sweet female guinea pigs and neutered males.

Purchased by a high school senior, they were left at home when their human went to college. Her parents no longer wanted to care for their daughter’s pets.

They are currently eating unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, fresh salad, fruits, veggies and pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which they get from fresh pellets, a 1-inch squares of red pepper, a vitamin C cookie, and some of their dark leafy greens.

Ethel and Eleanor have been treated with Revolution to prevent mites, fleas and lice.

These sweet girls deserve a guinea pig-loving home with people who will handle them daily, keep them well-fed, nails trimmed, and habitat nice and clean.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Ethel and Eleanor, please fill out an adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting [email protected]

Their adoption fee of $50 as a pair benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $75, you can purchase her Midwest guinea pig cage (two-foot by four-foot), and all the supplies you’ll need to get you started.

They are being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.

Annabelle is a three-month-old female tri-color crested or crowned guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.

Annabelle is very social with other guinea pigs and people. So, she’s looking for a home with at least one other female guinea pig or a neutered male guinea pig.

She is a beautifully socialized, sweet, and fun girl who is currently living with two other female guinea pigs in a foster home.

Found stray under a bush, this poor girl was lucky to have been found by a guinea pig lover.

She is currently eating unlimited timothy, alfalfa, orchard and botanical hays, fresh salad, fruits, veggies and pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which they get from fresh pellets, a 1-inch squares of red pepper, a vitamin C cookie, and some of their dark leafy greens.

Annabelle was thin when found, but has an excellent appetite and appears quite healthy. She has been treated with Revolution to prevent mites, fleas and lice.

This sweet girl deserves a guinea pig loving home with people who will handle her daily, keep her well-fed, nails trimmed, and habitat nice and clean.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Annabelle, please fill out an adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting [email protected]

Chicago, IL – One Week Relief Foster Needed For Lovable Romeo the American Bulldog-Mix

People come up to me on the street to love on him and he’s so appreciative of everyone’s love!

Tied to a park bench on Mother’s day of 2024, this dude had swallowed a toy and needed emergency surgery to have it extracted. He’s been in foster care ever since. Sadly, he’s never had a loving home of his very own.

He takes fluoxetine (doggie Prozac) for separation anxiety. His separation anxiety manifests itself in panicking and drooling when left alone. But, he’s crate – trained and housebroken.

He is currently being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. But, he needs relief foster from May 27th to June 2nd.
