Neuroscientists have shown something fascinating.

Your brain does not care if a thought is true.
It believes whatever you repeat.

The brain learns through repetition.
Every time you repeat a thought, you strengthen the neural pathway that carries it.

The brain also loves familiarity.
The more familiar a thought becomes, the more true it feels, even when it is not based on facts.

This explains why repeated negative thoughts can start to feel like reality.
And why repeating accurate, positive thoughts can calm you, steady you, and build confidence.

Therapists use this principle every day.
They help people replace harmful stories with healthier, more accurate ones through intentional repetition.

Your brain is plastic.
It rewires itself based on practice, not intention.

So be careful what you repeat.
Your thoughts are not background noise.
They are blueprints.

They are building the way you see yourself.

Ok since my phone storage is full I’m not going to download another video… & just hope Aunt Cathy doesn’t notice the name mis-spelling. 😳😳🫢

Basically you don’t need to use as much powdered sugar if you’re just hoping to coat, but not go for that full white look with all of the sugar.

For episode 12 (!!) my Aunt Cathy comes back to the kitchen to make one of our favorite family party recipes: Puppy Chow! (now called muddy buddies? but trust me, it’s human food).

This has been a staple at the Mizzi (mom’s maiden name) family parties for 40 years (!!!). The elders don’t eat it as much but the kids and the kids kids absolutely love it. She also goes so far as to create separate to-go bags for each of us, since the batch for the party usually gets taken down before we all go home...

Don’t try to make this healthy as you won’t get the same delicious results. Skip a meal so you can enjoy this special treat.

The 2 weeks of posting these videos always seems to fly by. I have enough clips I could probably do 3 weeks but Maybe that’s a discussion for season 2.

Lida & I have been collaborating for a while so it’s really great to continue projects with coworkers that become friends! Thanks for sharing this delicious Moroccan tagine with couscous.

One of the best things about kids starting school is meeting & talking to other parents about stuff ‘all’ the stuff the parenting books says makes you a bad parent, but in reality everyone is mostly doing it & it’s all about doing what you can to survive.

“I’ll finally travel when I’m more financially secure.” “I’ll move to my dream town when I’m more successful.” “I’ll prioritize my hobbies and passions when I’m older.”

Experts say many people delay joy because the brain gets hooked on wanting, planning, and chasing instead of actually savoring life.

While this is one of the few podcasts/cooking shows not sponsored by hello fresh, back to imitation it’s a great, easy way to get some of the skills down to become better at cooking.

The continued debate: are shallots better than onions??

Seems like it to Mike. But the browning of each is delicious.
