We need to talk about something. Film.
We’ve noticed there been such a resurgence in all of our hearts, for film. And truly? We aren’t surprised why.
Being in this industry for 20+ years, we’ve seen just about every trend come and go. And now, (frankly) with AI shifting our entire culture…not just imagery…there’s this longing we’ve noticed for a pull back to REALNESS. RAWNESS. AUTHENTIC moments that can’t be recreated or fabricated.
Now, that’s all still very possible within digital photography, too. We’ve never been the studio where “if you book us, you’re getting an overly doctored, AI-edited image.” That’s just not us.
BUT what we’re talking about is something a little deeper than the wedding photos themselves.
……………… It’s this growing desire we keep seeing in couples to experience the anticipation, the nostalgia, the “that was the moment, right there, captured in one shot” feeling. Not a fast-shutter spray of 20 images. Nope. Just one loud *ker-klunk* of a big, heavy, old film camera.
Were your eyes closed? Maybe. Did the dog jump into frame? Maybe. Did grandma sneeze at exactly the wrong time? Maybe. But that’s the BEAUTY of it.
(Okay, we’re being a little dramatic for conversation’s sake. Obviously if sweet gran sneezes mid-shot, we‘ll take a 2nd shot & try again).
But here’s the point: today’s couples are inundated with curated, magazine-perfect, trend-worthy content. And we get it, we love that, too, in some capacities. But we see through the noise, and we know there’s something bigger worth talking about and experiencing here: YOU TWO LOVEBIRDS. Plain and simple. Captured the original way: a roll of film and the exhilarating hope of “omg, how did it turn out?!”
Jeremy started this business on film, and we feel such gratitude for the re-surfacing of it. We’re thrilled about Colton Witt, who captured the images you see here as an add-on film photographer to Jeremy’s wedding (or any wedding).
And if you read this far, hi. We’re kindred spirits. We think you’d align well with our team of moment-capturers. And p.s., your attention span is just fine. Thanks for reading 🤪
