This prom season feels a little different for me 💫 I made the intentional decision to take on only a small number of prom sessions this year so I can slow down and be fully present with each moment I capture. While I’m sharing some of my favorite images from past proms here, they remind me exactly why I love this work so much. There is something incredibly special about photographing young people standing on the edge of something new. Prom is more than just a night, it’s a marker of becoming, and I feel so honored to freeze these moments in time as they step into their journey of who they’re meant to be 🤍

I’ve known Marques since 1995. It had been years since we last saw each other, but I’d been quietly cheering him on through Facebook. When he reached out for a shoot, I said yes without thinking twice. Our time together was filled with laughter, memories, and deep conversation—it truly filled my soul. Have you ever seen a Black Cinderella? Well, I have — and she was absolutely stunning! Miss Autymn gave it her all for prom, and it was simply magical. I can always tell when I am amazed at a shoot because it’s so hard to select which photos to show because I have way too many favorites! This prom was truly everything.
