Last June, I met this gorgeous couple for a playful lifestyle session in their home. They needed authentic photos that showcased their life and love so that they could create a brochure for prospective birth moms. They were looking for a little life to love, and waiting with great anticipation for the day they could bring them home.

Last week, the stars aligned when my whirlwind trip to Chicago lined up perfectly with their second week home. Sweet Cora is opinionated, sweet, and completely beautiful, and she could not have landed in a more adoring nest. What a gift to step into stories like this one and watch love bloom before our eyes!

Back in town after a whirlwind trip to Chicago...I had the chance to hug some lovely people, get some familiar faces in front of my lens, and most importantly, see Elliestyled in her natural habitat!!

The Uihlien family (aided by Ellie's magical team) have been throwing magazine-worthy backyard bashes for years, but this one very well might have taken the cake!

Congratulations to Tess, who's headed east, and thanks to this incredible family for having me back to capture it all for you again. It truly felt like home!

We had the coziest, playful session in studio this weekend-- frigid winter days sometimes make the warmth indoors the most noticeable!

Sometimes the phrase "studio session" can sound stiff and lifeless--these sessions were anything but. There's so much room for personality and fun here!!

Oh that late-fall light and color was out in abundance this weekend...and with a 65 degree high we had the time of our lives!!

My final weekend of fall family minis was gorgeous, delightful, and logistically nutty...when both my session date and my rain date were packed with showers, falling temps, and a decent chance of snow ❄️ I started to worry about whether we could get these in (especially before losing all the GORGEOUS color that finally showed up in Chicago!)

Thanks to my amazing clients, who trusted me to wait until the last minute to call these (and several who shuffled around to dodge the forecast), we not only got them done, they were perfect...I literally walked away from the last session in the first sprinkles 🙌

I'll be happy if next year holds a little less drama, but honestly, it was *all worth it* to get to make beauty like this for people like this. My clients are the very best, and I feel so lucky to be the one capturing their love!
