One thing I strive for with the images I create is consistency, but that doesn't mean it equals sameness. With all my portrait sessions, I have one single goal. That goal is to sell an album, and the album MUST sell itself. Deliver completely different looking images that they can't say no to, or pick out just "a few" they like. They like ALL of them! 😁 That has been my proven method for...well, forever! The only way I can do that is to introduce variety.
These pictures are just a few from a high school senior session. Random fact...I also photographed her when she was 10!! I will try and find one, and I will share it below.
Anyways, my sessions normally last 1.5 hours, or maybe 2, but I go into them hyper focused on how to find places that will give me the MOST variety, but my clients don't have to move around a lot. So convenience for them, but it keeps me on my toes so that I can easily switch things up. It obviously works out for the client because they have a lot of different images, but it also keeps me inspired to create because I strive to find different aspects of light and texture to capture. And after you've done this for many years, you need the consistent inspiration!
With that said, my workflow is always asked about. What does an entire session look like, even if I didn't show those pictures? The BTS video footage is always asked about, along with how I show clients my images, what my albums look like, and that entire process.
I did pull back the veil on that entire subject, and this senior session is one that's featured. Check out below for those details.
