Been working on something.
If you’ve shopped for a house lately, you’ve probably noticed the photos don’t always match the property anymore. AI editing, sky swaps, virtual staging, things removed that were really there. Buyers can’t tell what’s real and what isn’t.
I’ve spent the last few months writing a voluntary disclosure standard for the photography industry — a way for honest producers to label exactly what was done to each image and give buyers public access to the unedited original.
It’s called VIDP — Verified Image Disclosure Protocol.
The spec, the pill artwork, and the full adoption guide are live at vidp.org. Free, openly licensed, any photographer or agent can adopt it without asking permission.
If this resonates — whether you shoot listings, sell them, or just buy them — I’d love to hear what you think. Send questions, comments, suggestions, or feedback here or email to [email protected].
