With yesterday's chance of Aurora's and the perseids meteor shower, we'd thought it was worth the late night and long drive up to the top of Pelican Butte. The Aurora's spiked as soon as we got there. We could see white lights dancing in the sky with occasional tinges of red, but on camera, they absolutely lit up. It was definitely worth the trip.

We've been looking for a reason to check out this abandoned lookout, and this was finally a perfect opportunity to make the trip.
After driving up the mountain, getting stuck in deep snow, digging out, and hiking through through mud, snow, and ice, we made it to the top. And the views were worth the effort!
The photos were taken from Calimus Butte, and upper Klamath Lake afterwards.

We made some Calendars from pictures we took during 2023. Most of the pictures were taken in Klamath County, and a few were in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Douglas County.

Some family and friends throught we'd hike a ways up Mt. Thielsen to try to get a shot of the eclipse over the mountain. Unfortunately heavy clouds altered our original plans. Thankfully the it was visible a couple times through the cloud cover.

This midnight bike ride in early summer was amazing. Being able to capture an epic milkyway photo, even better!

There's nothing quite like being on the water under the stars. Paddling blindingly in the dark with only faint starlight being the guide.

I completely forgot to post this picture. I went with my brother and a friend to the Canby Cross at the Lava Beds National Monument for milkyway adventures a couple months ago.
I call this one "The bridge from Heaven to Earth".

Watching the sky fade from BRILLIANT REDS and ORANGES to GOLDEN YELLOWS and PALE PINK is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.
Even if you didn't get to your camera in time.
