Azure Market organic sugar is made from 100% certified organic sugar cane. It is a "first crystallization" sugar which means the cane is harvested, the juice is extracted, any field impurities are removed and it is crystallized. Learn Our History Today: On January 22, 1944, during World War II, the Battle of Anzio began with Allied troops storming ashore on the Italian coast to the complete surprise of German defenders. The objective of the Battle of Anzio was to outflank the formidable Winter Line of German fortifications that had stopped the Allies’ advance through Italy.

With the projected beachhead being a basin of former swamp land surrounded by mountains, Allied commanders knew a landing at Anzio would be risky. However, they had to find some way to get past the Winter Line and move towards the Italian capital of Rome. Initially, despite the risks, the Allies achieved complete surprise and were able to move ashore successfully. However, they did not advance far enough to get out of the marsh lands and were subjected to a deadly German counterattack.

The Germans created a ring of artillery and tanks around the beachhead, and for weeks they dropped shell after shell on the Allied positions. Finally, a new Allied commander, General Lucian Truscott, was brought in. After reorganizing the Allied troops around Anzio, Truscott led a successful break out from the beachhead. Within weeks, on June 4, 1944, Rome was in Allied hands.

Learn Our History Today: On January 4, 1847, famous weapons inventor Samuel C**t was awarded his first contract to supply the U.S. government with fi****ms. Since 1836, Samuel C**t had been producing his patented revolver, known as the “Paterson” due to its place of manufacturing, Paterson, New Jersey. This weapon was not accepted for general use in the U.S. military, mainly due to its flimsy nature, difficult trigger pull, and small caliber, but it did gain a dedicated following in the young Republic of Texas.

There, Texas Rangers under the command of Captains John Hays and Samuel Walker did battle with Comanche Indians using the Paterson and were quite pleased with its performance. After Texas was absorbed into the Union and the Mexican American war commenced, Captain Walker became an officer in the United States Mounted Rifles, and he soon desired a suitable sidearm to equip his troopers.

Very happy with the performance of the Paterson, Walker went back to C**t and began working with him to develop a new handgun, this time with a sturdier construction and higher caliber. The result was a .44 caliber, six-shot revolver, nearly 16 inches in length and more than four pounds in weight. Appropriately named the C**t Walker, this new handgun was just what the Texan was looking for, and in addition to arming his company, he convinced the military to put in orders for 1,000 more.
