Another trailblazer
March is Women's History Month
Leslie Thibodeaux was appointed General Manager of the Northern Tier High Adventure Base in 2022, becoming the first woman to lead a High Adventure Base. After years on the summer camp staff, she started her Professional Scouting career in 2001 as a District Executive with the Longs Peak Council in Greeley, CO. She worked as a District Executive in two rural districts in Wyoming and served as the director of the Council’s Cub Scout resident camp. In 2003, she was promoted to Camping Director, managing the Ben Delatour Scout Ranch, and eventually became the Director of Camps and Operations for the council.
Thibodeaux’s experience managing staff and facilities across various jurisdictions and her fundraising capabilities prepared her for the role of Director of Programs at Northern Tier. She began her journey there in 2012. During her tenure, the base experienced record attendance and the launch of exciting new programs.
Leslie and her husband, Cade, have taken on leadership roles in a local Cub Scout pack and a Scouts BSA troop.
