FOUR MARINERS PROSPECTS FOR ELLY DE LA CRUZ?

That's the pitch from Tremayne Person at Seattle Mariners On SI: Ryan Sloan, Cole Young, Felnin Celesten and Jonny Farmelo to Cincinnati for No. 44.

Sloan carries the offer — eighth overall in MLB Pipeline's August update. Young is a big-league infielder who could play second or short right now. Celesten is pitched as the future answer at shortstop.

Person admits no front office has discussed it, and says the Reds would have every right to ask for Kade Anderson too.

BREAKING: JJ Wetherholt expected to win non-existent Defensive Rookie of the Year award, according to fans who are devastated that Sal Stewart will win the real Rookie of the Year award after leading all rookies in home runs, RBI’s, extra base hits, games played, and runs scored.

Reminder: The goal of the game known as baseball is to score more runs than your opponent. No other rookie produced more runs (167) than Sal Stewart in 2026.

Sal Stewart is the 2026 MLB Rookie of the Year.

Announced today: MLB players, managers, and executives voted Sal Stewart as their Rookie of the Year.

Many fans outside of Cincinnati think that MLB’s players, managers, and executives are ALL wrong.

And that ALL of the sports writers will be wrong too when they announce Sal Stewart as the 2026 Rookie of the Year.

If you think Sal Stewart is not the Rookie of the Year, you are delusional.

Please seek help.

You have got to be kidding me 😭

Imagine ranking Sal Stewart as the 20th best 'prospect' in 2026 and think you'll be taken seriously 😂

(AFTER he slugged 32 home runs and 112 RBI's btw)

FUN FACT:

PLAYING REPLACEMENT LEVEL DEFENSE AT SECOND BASE = +2.5 WAR
PLAYING REPLACEMENT LEVEL DEFENSE AT FIRST BASE = -1.5 WAR

THAT IS A 4.0 WAR DIFFERENCE!

Sal would have had a 5.8 WAR if played second base in 2026.
JJ Wetherholt would have had a 2.0 WAR if played first base in 2026.

Funny. And somehow still:

Baseball America dropped its Top 50 Graduated MLB Prospects list, and the Reds' rookie All-Star landed all the way down at No. 20: behind Bryce Eldridge, Travis Bazzana, Walbert Urena and Joe Mack. 😤

The recent Sal disrespect doesn't stop there unfortunately, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter had Sal sixth among 2026 rookies, pointing at his glove and his lack of value on the bases rather than the 30-plus homers, the 112 RBIs, or the fact that he was one of the best hitters in the sport with runners in scoring position. lmao.

Stewart is being penalized for playing first base on the WAR side of things. Anyone watching the Reds in 2026 saw that Sal is actually a plus defender and did great at first with virtually zero experience.

1.5 WAR is how much more a replacement level third basemen is gifted vs. a replacement level first baseman. Yep.

The best part imo: Baseball America listed his ceiling as All-Star 1st Basemen. He already did that. In 2026. As a rookie... at this point it's just gotta be bad ai.

That's genuinely the only thing I can think of to explain it.

Sal should be the National League Rookie of the Year frontrunner on every list until the day he wins that award.

"Sports writers" really be writing anything these days to get a click... can't wait for these same disrespectful writers to write his ROY announcement in a couple weeks.

BREAKING: Sal Stewart deserves every rookie award on the planet‼️😤

But he’s now almost officially your favorite baseball player's favorite baseball player 😎🔥

Local 12 (WKRC) announced the 22-year-old is up for NL Outstanding Rookie in the 2026 Players Choice Awards, alongside TJ Rumfield and JJ Weatherholt.

So the players vote on this, and it's no surprise they're voting for ya boy Salbert.

He led all rookies in home runs, rbi, and total bases… genuinely what else does anyone need to know⁉️

He also led the Reds in homers, RBI, hits, and games played after dropping 26 pounds in the offseason and calling Tito about what was expected of him.

Sal was named an NL All-Star, a member of the MLB All-Rookie Team and the only rookie nominated for the NL Hank Aaron Award that is given to the best overall offensive performer in each league.

Remember how loud the JJ Weatherholt propagandists were all season?

Pretty quiet now 🤣

Even Cardinals fans agree with Sal Supremacy.

What do you guys think Reds Nation, does Sal deserve this award?

SAL STEWART IS A 2026 MLB ALL-ROOKIE. 🏆

Thirty-two homers and 112 RBI in his first full year in Cincinnati, at the ripe old age of 22.

The season ended 75-87, but this is the part worth keeping. Elly, Burns, Greene, and now Sal. Don't jinx it — just enjoy it.

JARREN DURAN TO CINCINNATI?

The former All-Star outfielder is being floated as a potential target by Drew Koch, a writer for Fansided's Blog Red Machine.

Koch explored Duran as a change-of-scenery opportunity that the Reds should be exploring after a 75-87 finish in 2026 left them 28 games behind the first place Brewers.

Duran is an unrestricted free-agent after the 2028 season, so the Reds would get 2 seasons (if there was no lockout... which it's looking like there will be)

The Reds outfield has needed some help, and with the exit of TJ Friedl and Wil Benson there could be flexibility to add a name to compliment Dane Myers, Blake Dunn, Carlos Jorge, Spencer Steer, and Hector Rodriguez.

What do you guys think?
