Time to finally stop procrastinating and launch my page for Gailya Sanders Photography. I removed it for a while to give myself time to work on my skills and overcome imposter syndrome. The struggle is real, and after attending SYNC last Feb I connected with so many supportive photographers who encouraged me to stop second guessing myself.

So after spending the past year learning how to market my skills, price my time & products, budget, upgrade my gear, effectively collaborate with others, retouch images, "shoot to sell" (still working on that one ☺️) and also how to think outside the box... its time!

So in love with this retro session, Kylie Walker was the perfect model for this. With the guidance of my dear friend and pro photographer Rhonda Cavender, I was able to bring my idea to life!

Having phones to capture those special moments has really revolutionized the way we document our children's childhood. It is also a wonderful tool to share those moments with family and friends across the globe.

Studies also show that there is another piece to the puzzle of child development that addresses what we do with these photos at home. That simply storing the photos on our phones, or on social media is not the end of the road for these photos. That printing them and having them where your family can see them everyday helps create an environment that says "We belong together".

Sometimes when you just go with the flow, the flow can take you away to somewhere unexpected!

I arrived at this beautiful families home for a lifestyle session and to my surprise the parents were well versed in styling and had props and stunning collections they had put together for their new little one!

What a treat to be able pair a lifetyle session and newborn one in such a casual and cohesive way.
