Mostly sharing as a reminder I can create things I enjoy and that there is only improvement once the process of creation is accepted

I've been having a lot of fun lately shooting in a JPEG format. Why? Well check it out

You might here about RAW and think it's the end all be all, but as an event photographer, i usually end up with waaay more than 700 photos on average.

If you didn't know I'm usually rocking a 42 mp camera body sooo I end up with like 30-60 lbs of images.

The longer the event, the more photos the more memory. Meaning I'm starting to loose seconds which turns into minutes out of my day which to me, a guy with a full-time office job is not ideal. So JPEG

Shooting in a compressed JPEG format cuts my memory usage in half, and allows me to bake in certain "looks." Colors, contrast, and other qualities straight from my camera. Which has lead to my current obsession with these monochromatic images.

TL:DR
I'm using my technical color smarts and knowledge of my camera to get these images straight out of camera with little to no editing.

I was given the chance to capture some high flying athleticism and skilled performers. There was a little bit of fire to light up the shoot as well.

🫠It's been so hot this summer it has me reminiscing on freezing my but off trying to get these fire shots

It's been eye opening rediscovering some old work that might not have gotten shared here or anywhere other than with friends and people I've bumped into!

Got to meet one of my favorite local artists and have some fun with lights and cameras.
It's always amazing to be reminded that the internet isn't just a parasocial nightmare and there actual amazing people out there just trying to make some cool things.
