Lily, Lily Bean, LB, Lil, Lily girl. You gave us almost 16 years and we’ll be forever grateful. Although she was in her old lady years, we still thought we had more time with her. This came as a shock and we were not prepared to say goodbye.
I don’t know how to condense 16 years of the unconditional love that animals give us and the joy that they bring to our lives.
The amount of times we’ve heard “I never really liked small dogs, but then I met Lil” is truly astonishing. She was a lapdog and loved to cuddle under the blanket, but hated kisses. She loved everyone, except for other dogs lol. She’d tolerate them, but was truly never a fan. She was the most well behaved dog, just naturally. Never straying from our unfenced backyard (well, besides the one or 2 random adventures). She didn’t bat an eye when Milo came. And adjusted so well. She’s traveled with us. She’s spent endless hours keeping me company while I edited.
She’s been with us through almost our entire relationship. Every high and every low. She was our first baby. And we just don’t know what we’re gonna do without her. Thank you Lil, for loving us unconditionally. We’re gonna miss you so much and we’re so thankful we got to be your people.
And a huge thank you to our dear friend for squeezing us in for one last family portrait after learning of Lil’s cancer diagnosis last week. We love you.
