“We are who we are, and that’s the trouble with cameras. They Tell the truth”

While shooting my portraits of strangers I meet on the street, I met Murray who had many words of wisdom to share with me..

Murray was a poet and a priest at St. Francis Seraph in OTR. He shared many stories with me as he smoked his cigar, celebrating his 80th birthday. He told me about his days in the seminary, his travels around the world, his days of working in the mental hospital..

He reminded me of why I like to take portraits of strangers, and that is to love people for who they are. He taught me to always stay passionate, to always have something to look forward to, and to find that little bit of hope that’s still left in this world.

Thank you Murray for the long talk, and being so open to someone you just met. I hope with my photography, I can continue to share stories of others like yourself.

1. 📍Rock Bridge Trail to Creation Falls
A 1.4 mile look with a natural arch and waterfall

1. 📍Chimney Top Trail
A 0.7 mile out and back path that leads to a beautiful overlooks over the gorge and surround cliffs.
