Deep Freeze
Finally getting around to posting some older film shots. Ran out with the new-to-me Hasselblad 80mm f/2.8 last year to capture a hoarfrost on black and white.

Neighbor
This Barred Owl has visited the patch of trees behind my house for the last couple of years and has been more than patient with me as I chase it around my backyard with my camera. Not my traditional type of post, but there’s something about bird photography that’s incredibly satisfying when it all works out.

Misty Morning
My shots of Maroon Peak didn’t pan out quite like I wanted, but this phone shot of early morning light hitting these peak-color Quaking Aspen trees more than made up for it. The ever changing cloud cover made for such a dynamic environment.

Burst
There’s nothing like autumn in the White Mountains. We managed to roll through the area during absolute peak color change, and it’s something I’ll never forget. A crowd of about 30 people stood around me when I took this frame along the famous Kancamagus Highway, and it’s easy to see why this lookout was a popular stop.

Over the Edge
This is one of my more memorable days from our 2019 Ireland trip, and I never got around to posting my favorite shot from these iconic cliffs. See the upper left corner for scale.

Heavenly Gate
This is one of the more detailed Milky Way photos I’ve managed to take. It is a detailed mosaic using both panoramic and Noise Reduction techniques, allowing for tons of detail and color in the night sky. This shot comes from day 2 of our Southwest trip, running on essentially zero sleep to this point. We found ourselves in the middle of nowhere when we stumbled upon this magnificent natural arch. It would go on the serve as the perfect astrophotography background, and remains a highlight of the trip.

Fading Color
I don’t normally include people in my shots, but this dude has been my ride or die for a few years now and I’ve always enjoyed this shot of him. We were backcountry camping in White Sands National Park and after barely dodging a pretty massive thunderstorm we decided to scope out compositions for a potential Milky Way shoot later that night. I thought the colors in the background made for a nice frame.

Olympic Majesty
This was one of the greatest sunsets I’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting. After spending the day exploring beautiful waterfalls and mystical rainforests, we decided to spend the evening on the beach. The sky lit up in hazy purple and gold, while the sun made the mossy green rocks glow bright green. I can’t think of a better ending to our first day exploring the Pacific Northwest. Olympic National Park is truly one of the greatest parks in the world. Swipe for the uncropped version!

Fairest View
Our first evening in Ireland brought us to Fair Head in County Antrim, where the 100 meter high cliffs provided the perfect vantage point for a marvelous hazy sunset. Make sure to swipe for the uncropped frame!

Precipice
Fog and low cloud took turns covering different parts of Acadia NP, but the sun still managed to find its way through as we ascended one of the most thrilling and dangerous “hikes” in a national park. The trail is more of a rock scramble, requiring the use of rusted ladders and railings to keep from falling off the exposed face of Champlain Mtn. The views are absolutely spectacular and the rush is second to none.
