It’s a dreary day perfect for a nap, but sweet little Boone didn’t think so 🤣. He was wide awake ready to party for most of his session, but that’s okay! We embraced it and got the best of both worlds with some sleepy and wide awake pictures!

Photographing another photographer’s family is always a little nerve-racking… but also one of the biggest compliments. Especially when it’s someone as talented as Bailey. 🤍

We embraced the chaos, let the kids lead the way, and somehow those are always the moments that turn into the most beautiful photos!

I have photos just like this from when my boys were little too. Easton was around this same age, Hudson just a little older, and it was HOT. They were serious the entire session. I don’t think I got a single smiling photo.

At the time, I remember feeling disappointed if I’m honest.

But now? Those photos are some of my favorites I’ve ever taken. I still have them hanging up even after taking thousands more since then. Because they captured a real season.

I get to remember their tiny serious faces, the way they cuddled into me when they were tired, the sweetness of them even when the heat and exhaustion had fully set in. And honestly… I don’t even have many photos of those little serious expressions because most of mine are full of smiles and laughter.

Photos don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes the cuddly, tired, serious moments end up being the ones you treasure most. 🤍

Motherhood minis are in full swing and I’m LOVING it!! I love getting to see Autumn and Nolan every year!
