I absolutely love photographing the big, crazy wedding days, but there’s something really special about the smaller, intimate ones. They have a way of slowing everything down and letting the emotion shine through in every photo.

When Jess reached out about a Monday wedding at their home, I was immediately intrigued. Then I realized I had taught her two soon-to-be sons at school, and the connection was instant.

Not only was it awesome to photograph a wedding literally three minutes from my house 🙌🏻, but getting to capture a day in a place that already meant so much to them made it even more special. There were so many little details that made their home the perfect backdrop for their story (and of course, I can’t share all of those because it’s their home).

By the end of the day, I honestly felt like part of the family. I’m so grateful they trusted me to capture such an incredible day, and I can’t wait for them to relive these moments for years to come.

In the world of social media, it feels like we all have to be connected 24/7. I do my best to keep up with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Zola, and email, but if you want to make sure I see your message as quickly as possible, the best place to reach out is through my website: ericboylanphotography.com.

I know some couples get a little nervous when they hear I like to hop on a quick call, but I promise it’s laid-back and genuinely one of the most important parts of the process. It’s not a just a sales pitch—it’s just a chance for us to get to know each other and make sure we’re a great fit. In fact, there have been times where I’ve talked with a couple and realized another photographer would be a better match for them. When that happens, I’m always happy to point them in the right direction. Your experience matters more to me than simply booking another wedding.

Once we decide we’re a great fit, everything else is super easy. Your proposal, contract, invoice, and questionnaires are all handled online, so everything is in one place and easy to access whenever you need it.

My goal is to make the entire experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible—from your first inquiry all the way to your wedding day.

I always love pointing out the “connection” to my couples, but this one is just plain crazy.

A while back, I got an inquiry on Zola from an awesome couple, Wren (Wren) and Rachel (Ray Levy), who wanted photos that felt “silly, authentic, and full of love.” Naturally, I did a little Facebook sleuthing and realized I used to work with Wren’s dad! Of course, I had to reply and point out our own version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon... except with their dad, Mike.

We immediately hit it off. We have a lot in common (they even lived in Scranton for a while), and they said my photography style was exactly what they were looking for.

Then they told me they love theatre. Well... you know I had to go all in.

Not only did we do their engagement session in a theatre, we did it in America’s oldest theatre, Walnut Street Theatre. Getting to wander through that incredible space and create photos that were truly silly, authentic, and full of love was an absolute blast.

A huge thank you to T.J. Sokso for helping make this happen. To my followers, if you’re a theatre fan, you have to check this place out.

Now all that’s left is the wedding at one of my favorite venues, Lazaretto Ballroom, this June. I seriously can’t wait.

Bad news, I’m NOT Taylor Swift’s photographer. That’s OK, I’ll shake it off and tell your love story. Don’t blame me when you get gorgeous photos of your best day. You’ll cry over photos you couldn’t imagine in your wildest dreams. Long story short, I wish you would reach out. Peace ✌️.

It feels like yesterday I was wandering around David and Therese’s property for their engagement session, finding little spots they didn’t even know were there. Fast forward a few months, and I got to photograph their wedding day.

From St. Thomas More Church to Montdale Country Club, everything was just… easy. Beautiful weather, an incredible group of family and friends, and two genuinely kind people who made me feel like I belonged there.

Days like this are exactly why I love what I do. David and Therese, thank you for trusting me from that very first phone call all the way through your wedding day. It was an absolute honor.

Just a little Friday morning truth bomb for you. After spending the day yesterday with my wife Christina (Christina Boylan ) , I especially believe this. We talked in the car for a while about our wedding and we look back on it SO fondly, and honestly don’t remember any negatives. I’m SURE there were some stressful moments or things that didn’t go as planned, but we truly can’t remember them. We remember the good times and all the amazing times that have followed!

Your engagement session should feel like you! One of my favorite things as a photographer isn’t the photography, it’s helping my couples plan for their session. I learn so much about them, what they love, and how they interact. 💍

What a day for Molly and Nic!

Beautiful weather, an amazing crowd of family and friends, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night long (thanks to their uncle EJ the DJ). These two trusted me from day one and gave me the freedom to document the day as it happened, which ALWAYS makes the day so much fun. “Check” out the night photo on the chessboard 🙃!

There was so much joy in every part of this wedding. The hugs, the happy tears, the nonstop laughter, and of course lots of PSU pride 🐾.

Molly and Nic, thank you for having me along for the ride. It was a blast!

“They’re going to rent the whole camp for the entire weekend.” Brianna from said in her message to me when she sent my info to Sarah and Katie. My eyes lit up and I couldn’t wait to meet this unique couple that totally matches my “unique” vibe. And oh my…. they definitely lived up to that vibe! They’re two very chill humans that truly wanted to live their best life surrounded by those that love them (which is apparently a LOT of people)! I think this post is photo evidence of how loved they are.

I love the colors of a wedding day (YES, black and white are colors too 😁). Whether it’s a super colorful fall day, the purposefully different toned brudesmaid dresses, or a minimalist wedding, I want you to remember the colors of the day the way they were. For me, the colors of the day help bring out the emotion and highlight the moments too.
