HWY 79 entering Dover Tn
I took this photo on March 29 around 5:30 a.m. while I was out shooting for a school assignment. I wasn't even planning to photograph this scene yet. I was still getting set up and getting ready to enjoy some coffee over at my best friend's house.
Out of nowhere, a TVA barge came through, cutting across the river and completely changing the scene. I had to move fast, get my camera set, and take the shot before the moment passed.
What I really liked about it was how the barge lit up the river in that low light. Even though sunrise was still about an hour and a half away, the sky was just starting to lift out of darkness, and you could feel that transition from night into morning. The lights from the barge mixed with that early ambient light, reflecting off the water and giving the whole scene a quiet, almost magical feel.
It wasn't planned, but that's what made it. One of those moments where you just react and capture what's unfolding right in front of you.
