Documenting memories, one photo at a time.

https://www.faithdoggett.com Capturing emotion is what I love doing most. Births and homecomings bring strong emotion that is so raw. Then, there are the every day moments, your kids climbing around on the furniture, reading stories, or running in the yard. All moments you want to remember forever. Your life, as you know it. Message me to discuss and plan out your session. I look forward to hearing from each of you! Portfolio and blog at: www.faithdoggett.com

August brought another trip around the sun, plenty of miles on the road, family celebrations, the start of race season, and a cake good enough to make twice.

And because no month is complete without something a little unexpected, enjoy a cicada shell perfectly positioned as the star of my cover photo. 😂

A few days late, but here’s a little look back at August!

Twelve years is a lot of life.

My boys were only 4 and 5 when Journey’s Eye Studio first opened. They still remember stopping in and getting a cup full of Goldfish from the glass container while I looked around. Jody always made everyone feel welcome, right down to having snacks for the kids, water when you needed it and hot c***r in the winter.

Over the years, the shop became The Clarksville Collection but it remained one of those special downtown places where you could always find unique gifts, beautiful artwork and things you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

One of those pieces became part of a story I will never forget. I once photographed a piece of art in the store that featured pennies. One of my Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep mamas saw the photo and sent her husband to buy it. Whenever she found a penny, she thought of it as a penny from Heaven from her baby boy. That piece seemed meant to find its way to her.

I stopped in this morning to sign the guestbook and get a hug from Jody before the doors close. I’m sad to say goodbye to a store that has been part of so many years and memories, but very happy to know Jody isn’t going anywhere. She’ll still be here in Clarksville, bringing her warmth, creativity and joyful spirit to whatever comes next.

Thank you, Jody, for creating a place that gave us so much more than something to shop for. ❤️

Happy National Dog Day to some of the very best coworkers I’ve ever had. 🐾

I had way too much fun photographing this crew at Kathys Pampered Paws - and once I started looking through all of their expressions, giving out superlatives felt necessary.

Biggest smile. Most likely to be Plotting Something. Most Majestic Ears. They made these awards pretty easy. 😂

Which one would your dog win?

World Photography Day also happens to be my birthday, which feels pretty fitting after all these years. 📷

This sweet little was two when I took this photograph. Now she’s four — and I just got the sweetest “Happy Birthday” from her all the way from Germany! She even sang for me! 🥰

And there it is.

One of the things I love most about photography.

Two becomes four. People move across the world. Kids grow up. Life keeps moving.

But for a fraction of a second, I got to make two stay two.

That will never stop feeling pretty special to me. 🤍

Happy World Photography Day.

Kinda chic to have artwork of your Senior.

Albums. Wall portraits. Actual photographs you can hold in your hands. Because their senior year deserves better than living somewhere in your camera roll.

😂 Sometimes the smile is there… it’s just a little more enthusiastic than expected.

One of my favorite things about photographing dogs is that they bring absolutely ZERO concern for how the picture is “supposed” to look. And somehow, those are usually the photos that end up being the best.

Karma from Kathys Pampered Paws clearly understood the assignment. Sort of. 😆🐾

Me: Smile pretty!
Karma: Nailed it.

One of my favorite parts of the entire portrait experience is delivering the finished artwork. 🤍

Seeing her hold this portrait, something created to celebrate exactly who she is during this season, is the best reminder that these photographs are meant to be more than files tucked away on a phone or hard drive.

Senior year is fleeting. Your senior’s artwork doesn’t have to be.

08/04/2026

The backdrop almost took me out! 🤣

But apparently, this is what “balancing my expenses” looks like.

Memory cards, lenses, backdrops, tripods and beauty dishes… totally balanced. 😉 Completely reasonable. No notes.
