📸 SNEAK PEEK | EVAN • CLASS OF 2027 🎓

Okay, first of all… can we talk about this smile?! 😍 Evan seriously has one of those smiles that just makes every photo better.

This young man was an absolute pleasure to photograph. So polite, well-mannered, easygoing, and already knows what he wants to do with his future. Just an all-around GREAT guy. We laughed a lot, had so much fun during his session, and honestly, sessions like this make my job pretty darn easy. 💗

But there was another pretty crazy part of this shoot…

I got to see someone I haven’t seen in 26 YEARS. 😳

Apparently, I’ve officially reached the stage of my photography career where I’m taking senior portraits for the kids of people I went to school with. 😂 And I LOVE it… while simultaneously questioning how we are possibly old enough to have graduating seniors. 😅

There is something really special about life coming full circle like this, though. Getting to reconnect with people from my past while documenting such a huge milestone for their kids is something I don’t take for granted.

Evan, you absolutely killed your session! I can’t wait to share more — but for now, here’s a little sneak peek. 📸💗

Class of 2027 — now booking fall senior sessions!

I think I’ll call it a night on edits soon… maybe. 😅📸

After working on one of my wedding galleries all day, I opened this grouping of this absolutely gorgeous girl in the most beautiful field and… well… I couldn’t stop. 😂💗 Sometimes a gallery just pulls you right back in.

People ask me all the time how I’m able to travel as much as I do, and the answer is pretty simple… because when I’m HOME, especially during photography busy season, I can easily spend 14-16 hours a day sitting in front of this computer. 😅

Not every day, of course—but during senior, wedding & fall portrait season? There are definitely a LOT of very long editing days and late nights behind the pretty pictures you see here.

And thankfully, I genuinely LOVE it. 💗

I love taking a photograph and turning it into a finished piece of art. I love watching an entire gallery come together. And apparently I love telling myself, “just one more edit” at 11pm. 😂

They say, love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.

I don’t know about the “never work” part 😂… but I sure am lucky to love what I do. 📸💗

✨ A little wedding sneak peek… ✨

Some love stories don’t need much explaining. You can simply see it.

It’s in the way they look at each other when they think no one is paying attention. The way they naturally fall into each other. The little laughs between the posed moments. And that look that says, this is my person. 🤍

These two had that kind of love.

For a little while, everything else seemed to disappear. Just the two of them, newly married, soaking in one of the biggest days of their lives together.

And THIS is why I love photographing weddings so much.

Of course I’m going to capture the beautiful portraits—the dress, the details, the perfect light and all of those photographs you’ll want framed on your walls. But I’m also watching for everything happening in between.

The way he looks at you when you’re not looking.

The way your hand naturally finds his.

Your parents watching from across the room.

The laughter. The nerves. The happy tears. The tiny moments you may not even realize happened until you see your gallery.

Because years from now, I don’t just want you to remember what your wedding looked like.

I want your photographs to take you right back to what it felt like. 🤍

It was truly such a pleasure and an honor to be trusted with this day. You could feel how deeply these two love one another, and something tells me this is only the very beginning of a beautiful forever.

Congratulations to this incredible couple. 🥂🤍

And to my future brides & grooms—if you’re looking for someone who will photograph your wedding day as more than a checklist of poses… someone who will help guide you when you need it, step back when you don’t, and look for the moments that make your story yours—I would absolutely love to hear about the day you’re dreaming of. 📸🤍

✨ GALLERY DELIVERED ✨

I’ve been trying not to share too many sneak peeks because I still want there to be a little bit of magic and surprise when you finally open your finished gallery… but now that this one has officially been delivered, I had to share a few more. 📸💗

Senior portraits are genuinely one of my absolute favorite things to photograph — and THIS is why.

I love playing with light. I love finding those little moments where everything comes together perfectly. I love taking an ordinary location and turning it into something completely different through my lens. But most of all, I love creating art that is completely unique to the senior in front of my camera.

This season of life happens once. And knowing that these photographs will be looked back on years from now makes what I get to do feel incredibly special.

I hope you guys love these portraits as much as I do. 🥹💗

Thank you, truly, for trusting me with such an important milestone. It is sincerely an honor that families choose me to document these moments.

The fact that THIS is my job will never be lost on me. 📸✨

✨ BEFORE ➡️ AFTER ✨

Golden hour is already pretty magical… but this is where the ART comes in. 📸🌅

The first image is what my camera captured — beautiful light, a gorgeous senior, and all the ingredients for something special.

The second is the finished portrait. 💗

This is why I spend so much time meticulously editing every single image I deliver. Enhancing that golden glow, perfecting skin tones, bringing out the colors, removing little distractions, and adding those finishing touches that turn a photograph into a piece of art.

I never want my seniors to look overly edited or like someone they don’t recognize. I want them to look like THEM — just captured in the most beautiful way possible. ✨

Because senior portraits aren’t just pictures for right now. Someday, these will be the photographs that take you right back to exactly who they were in this season of their life. 🥹💗

And THIS is why golden hour will forever have my heart. 🌅📸

Tonight was one of those nights that reminded me exactly why I love what I do. 💗📸

The venue. The couple. The family. The energy. Everything was just… perfect.

There’s something so inspiring about getting to photograph a wedding in a space with gorgeous urban, eclectic vibes—right in the heart of Detroit and so close to the DIA. My creative brain was basically in heaven. 😍

But a beautiful venue can only give you so much.

Then you put two people in front of my camera who just… fit.

Of course I direct my couples. I’ll tell them where to stand, where to put their hands, where to look and how to move. But the real magic happens in everything I DON’T direct—the little laughs, the way they look at each other, and how naturally they fall into one another.

You can direct a pose.

You can’t direct connection. 💗

Tonight there was so much of it.

Weddings are EXHAUSTING. 😅 There is more preparation, concentration, physical energy and editing that goes into a wedding than just about every other type of portrait session put together.

But it’s worth it. Every. Single. Time.

Now I get to take everything I saw through my camera tonight and turn it into art…and I seriously cannot wait to start playing with these edits. 😍

To my beautiful couple and their families—thank you for trusting me with such an important day. I truly, truly love what I do. 💗

✨ Sometimes the location isn’t what makes the photos… she does. ✨

We showed up to this farm with a vision. 🌸 We were expecting flowers, color, and a completely different look than what we found.

And honestly? The flowers just… weren’t there. 😂

For a minute, I think we both had that little “welllll… this isn’t exactly what we pictured” moment.

But then she put on THE dress. 💗

You know the one — the dress that looks like it was somehow made specifically for her. The color, the movement, the way it photographed… absolutely perfect.

And suddenly, it didn’t matter that the location wasn’t what we expected.

Because she made the location.

She made the portraits.

Her personality, her confidence, that gorgeous dress, and a smile that quite literally lit up the entire farm. ✨

Looking at these portraits, you would never know this wasn’t the original vision. And I think there’s something really beautiful about that.

Senior portraits aren’t about finding a “perfect” field or the exact flowers we imagined. They’re about capturing YOU in this incredibly short season of your life.

And this beautiful girl made that so easy. She is every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, and photographing her was such a joy. 🤍

So, Class of 2027 girls… find the dress that makes you feel AMAZING. The one you put on and immediately think, this is it.

We’ll take care of the rest. 📸✨

Because sometimes the most beautiful portraits happen when the plan changes… and you simply let her be the art. 💗

✨ A little senior portrait prep goes a LONG way! ✨

Sharing a few more favorites from this absolutely STUNNING senior session 😍📸 And while we’re here, I thought I’d share some of my favorite tips for getting ready for your senior portraits!

These aren’t “rules”—just little things I’ve learned over the years that can make a surprisingly BIG difference in your final images. 💗

📸 STEAM OR IRON YOUR OUTFITS!
This one is huge! Wrinkles photograph much more prominently than you might expect and can completely change the polished look of an outfit. Hang everything up after steaming it instead of stuffing it back into a bag.

✨ Give everything a quick lint roll.
Especially black or darker clothing! Tiny hairs, fuzz and lint LOVE showing up in high-resolution portraits. 😂

💧 Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Start drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your session—not just an hour beforehand. Hydrated skin tends to look fresher and healthier, and you’ll generally feel better too.

🥪 PLEASE eat before your session!
I know some seniors worry about eating beforehand because they don’t want to feel bloated, but showing up hungry is so much worse. Senior sessions can involve quite a bit of walking, standing, changing outfits and moving around. You want energy, good color in your face, and to actually feel GOOD while we’re shooting. Have a normal meal or snack beforehand—nothing crazy, just don’t come on an empty stomach!

👗 Try everything on BEFORE session day.
Sit in it. Walk in it. Look at it from different angles. Make sure bras, straps or undershirts work with it. If you’re constantly tugging, adjusting or uncomfortable in something, that feeling tends to come through in photographs.

👟 Don’t forget the shoes!
Even when you think they won’t be in the picture…they probably will be. 😂 Make sure they’re clean and actually work with the entire outfit.

💅 Pay attention to the little details.
Clean nails, moisturized lips, fresh haircuts (preferably not five minutes before your session 😅), tidy facial hair, clean shoes, wrinkle-free clothing—those little things add up!

🐾 And as much as we LOVE our animals…leave them home unless we’ve specifically planned for them to be part of your portraits.
Pets can be distracting during a session, even when they aren’t actually in the photos. Your senior session is YOUR time to relax, focus, have fun and let us create without worrying about what your furry bestie is doing behind us. ❤️

And probably my biggest tip?

Come as YOU.

Don’t feel like senior portraits mean suddenly dressing like someone you’ve never been. Bring the clothes you love. Wear the things that make you feel confident. Choose locations and ideas that fit your personality.

Because my job isn’t to make every senior look the same.

It’s to take everything that makes YOU, you and turn it into art you’ll still love years from now. ❤️📸

Class of 2027 — senior season is HERE! If you haven’t booked your senior portrait experience yet, I’d love to create something beautiful with you. 💗

✨ More of beautiful Libby ✨

I have a handful of favorite locations throughout the greater Detroit area, but this one will forever be near the top of my list. 🤍 There’s just something about the light, the textures, the colors, and the way everything comes together here that makes my photographer heart so happy.

But here’s the thing about senior portraits… location matters. Outfits matter. Especially when we’re working toward a specific vision.

The right outfit can completely transform a location, and the right location can take an outfit from beautiful to absolutely magical. ✨

But neither of those things is the MOST important part.

The most important part is YOU.

When I plan a senior session, I don’t want to simply choose a pretty location and tell you what to wear. I want to know who you are. What feels like you? What do you love? Are you happiest barefoot in a field? Dressed up downtown? Wandering through the woods? On the beach? Around flowers, architecture, water, your favorite sport, your car, your instrument…whatever tells a little piece of your story.

Because the goal isn’t to make every senior fit into my photography.

The goal is to create photography that fits them. 🤍

Choose outfits that make you feel confident. Choose locations that match your personality. Bring the things that mean something to you. And then give yourself permission to just BE yourself.

That’s when the stiff poses disappear. That’s when the real smiles happen. That’s when personality starts pouring through the images.

And that’s when a senior portrait becomes more than just a pretty picture.

It becomes art. And YOU are the art. ✨

Libby absolutely brought herself to this session, and I could photograph this beautiful girl all day. 🤍

✨ THE PHOTO vs. THE FINAL PORTRAIT ✨

This is where the magic happens. 🤍

The first image is what my camera captured…
The final image is what I envisioned when I pressed the shutter. 📸✨

Editing isn’t about changing someone into someone they’re not. It’s about taking an already beautiful moment and bringing it to life — enhancing the light, perfecting the tones, removing distractions, and creating that dreamy, polished look you see in the final portrait.

And when you give me a gorgeous girl + a forest + beautiful light?! 😍🌿 You already KNOW I’m going to obsess over every little detail.

This is also why your gallery doesn’t arrive overnight. Every portrait is individually hand-edited with an embarrassing amount of attention to detail. 😂

Just wait for the BEFORE ➡️ AFTER transformation. ✨

If you have a Class of 2027 senior, now is the time to get on my calendar! Senior year only happens once — let’s create something that actually feels like you. 🤍
