We don’t talk enough about how good dads who co-parent suffer in silence. The moment our kids leave, the house gets quieter in a way that’s hard to explain. It’s the loneliness that settles in. The missed time. The moments we don’t get back. Birthdays and holidays we don’t wake up to. Bedtime routines we don’t get to do. Random laughs we don’t get to hear. Going days sometimes weeks without seeing your children isn’t just “part of the agreement.” It’s a weight you carry quietly, because you’re expected to be strong, to be okay, to keep moving.

But missing your kids never gets easier. You just learn how to live around the ache.

And if you’re a father doing your best in a co-parenting situation, showing up, staying consistent, loving your children from wherever you are. You’re not weak for feeling this way. You’re human.
