Long post ahead.
I was invited to new location grand opening today from my buddy Ben. I was introduced to Pinkerton’s a couple years ago when my buddy was doing a BBQ photography class there and fell in love with the delicious meats! A few months later, I had a friend trying to get sober and I happen to see Grant, the owner of Pinkerton’s, post about his long term sobriety. I had reached out and asked him if he was willing to chat with my friend and maybe share his journey. The goal was to take my friend out to eat BBQ for his birthday and introduce him to Grant. Hoping it was a good idea. We were never able to make the lunch and conversation happen. My friend passed at the end of that year. I have always wanted to tell Grant thank you in person. Fast forward to today, I was able to meet Grant and his wife in person and was able to tell Grant thank you. Along with that, I got to watch the preparation of the first time serving customers, the amazing pitmasters and staff, and the pep talk before the doors opened. I was amped! I wanted to work there! I got to see the love and passion that they put into BBQ and serving others! Most of all I got to get in line, get a plate of BBQ that i was meant to share with my friend in a place, with people that were willing to show him love. It was full circle. I felt the energy, Today was more for you Anthony than it was me. Today was the universe telling me it’s going to be ok.
Thank you for inviting me and for the amazing BBQ and selfless work you and your wife do sir. This day meant more than you know.
