Well... this is unexpected.

Extraordinaire Photos + EP Events is officially a finalist for Cleveland Magazine's Best of Cleveland in the Best Photographer category!

First things first: thank you. Seriously.

Someone (or maybe a whole bunch of someones!) took the time to nominate us, and that honestly means the world. We spend so much of our time behind the camera celebrating everyone else's milestones that it's a little surreal to find ourselves being celebrated.

If we've photographed your wedding, wrangled your extended family into looking at the camera at the same time, convinced your toddler that photos are actually fun, documented your story, captured your business, created artwork together, coordinated your event, or simply shared a laugh with you over the years—you've been part of our story, too.

Now comes the part where we shamelessly ask for a tiny favor...

The final round of Cleveland Magazine's Best of Cleveland voting is officially open through July 31!

The best part? You can vote once per category, every single day. So if you're the type of person who waters your plants daily, checks the weather three times before leaving the house, or has Wordle permanently built into your morning routine... maybe add "vote for Extraordinaire Photos" to the list? We promise it takes less time than convincing your family to smile for a Christmas card.

Cleveland Magazine's Best of Cleveland celebrates the people, places, restaurants, artists, and local businesses that make this city such a wonderful place to call home. Just being included alongside so many incredible Cleveland businesses feels like a huge honor.

Will we win? Honestly... who knows.

We've always kind of assumed these things were for the really big names, so making it to the finals already feels like a victory in itself. But we'd also be lying if we said we didn't secretly dream about seeing our name at the top.

So if we've ever captured a moment you'll treasure forever, helped your wedding day run smoothly, made you feel confident in front of a camera, or simply been a small part of your life, we'd be incredibly grateful for your vote.

Whether we bring home the title or not, we already feel like we've won by getting to do what we love for people like you.

Every year, we convince ourselves that awards like this are impossible for a little independent studio like ours to crack... and every year we debate whether it's even worth trying.

Well, this year we're giving it a shot!

If we've photographed your wedding, family, business, company event, headshots, senior portraits, or welcomed you to one of our Valentine's Day or Krampus holiday mini sessions, we'd be incredibly grateful if you'd nominate Extraordinaire Photos + EP Events for Best Photographer in Cleveland Magazine's Best of Cleveland.

Will we win? Who knows. But we'd rather say, "At least we tried," than spend another year wondering what might have happened. If you think we've earned it, we'd love your nomination—and if nothing else, you'll help us quiet that little voice in our heads that says the big guys always win.

In The Neighborhood: Dahlia Coffee Co. ☕

If you know me, you know coffee is basically a personality trait at this point, so when it came time to feature a local coffee shop, was an easy choice.

I first discovered Dahlia when they were operating as a pop-up at , and I’ve been cheering them on ever since. It’s been incredible watching their journey from those early pop-up days to becoming one of Cleveland’s favorite coffee destinations.

Founded by owner Natalia, Dahlia Coffee Co. was born from a dream years in the making. After leaving behind a successful corporate career in 2022, she took a leap of faith and built a thriving small-batch roastery and coffee shop rooted in quality, community, and hospitality.

One of the things I love most about Dahlia is that you can feel the difference when a business is built by someone who genuinely loves what they do. From ethically sourced beans to specialty drinks inspired by Natalia’s Mexican heritage, every cup is crafted with care.

And speaking of favorites... I wish I could tell you I’ve only had one Mazapán Latte, but that would be a lie. Somewhere between my first sip and my tenth, it became my regular order. Pair it with a chicken empanada and suddenly coffee, breakfast, and lunch are all handled in one stop.

We’re especially excited that Dahlia will soon be bringing its signature coffee experience to Old Brooklyn near our SCA Tremont properties! Their current location is closest to our residents at The Hawthorne:
