This sweet little guy wasn’t quite sure he wanted to sleep for me at first, but I certainly wasn’t complaining about getting to capture those beautiful blue eyes! 💙 Once he finally decided it was time for a nap, though, he was out and I was able to capture the sweetest sleepy moments too.

That’s one of the things I love about newborn sessions. I follow baby’s lead. Sometimes that means a little extra time for feeding, soothing, snuggling, or just waiting for those sleepy moments to come. And sometimes being wide awake gives us some of my favorite images from the entire session.

Just look at those eyes! 💙

New mama photography timeline FAQs

When should I schedule my maternity, Fresh 48, and/new born sessions?

Maternity: 28 to 34 weeks is the sweet spot for beautiful maternity portraits and that gorgeous baby bump.

Fresh 48: I come to you in the hospital within the first 24 hours after your baby arrives to capture those first precious moments together.

Newborn: Ideally, your session should be scheduled when baby is 5 to 15 days old. This is when sleepy, curly newborn poses are typically easiest.

Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be delivering your Senior Rep Welcome Boxes between 5-6pm.

I’ll be making quick porch drop offs, so I’ll leave your box at the door, ring the doorbell, and head to my next stop.

Please bring your box inside as soon as possible after delivery, as some items should not be left in the heat.

Heavenly Father,

As our seniors begin their last first day of high school this week, I pray that You would walk beside them every step of the way. Please protect them, give them wisdom, courage, and confidence, and help them make this year one they'll always cherish.

I also pray for their parents. Please fill their hearts with peace as they watch their children grow, and help them treasure every milestone, every memory, and every 'last' this senior year brings.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:8
