Gabrielle + Edward’s wedding at was timelessly elegant and classically romantic. Every detail was curated and intentional, from every little “something blue” to stunning silver accents reflecting the Virginia sun. Their love was central, palpable, and peaceful. Historic Whitewood is effortlessly classy. This venue is easily a standout from my decade-long career. The staff is not only top-notch in organization and communication, but also in kindness and relatability. They slowed down to connect with their clients as well as the vendors and guests throughout the day, setting them apart as hosts. They offered our team suggestions that only owners who live on the property could know. Chad and Sarah, you two are remarkable. Emily and Kieran’s two-part engagement session at + was one for the books. One part elegance, one part grunge — a little bit of both worlds.

We planned a “date night” sort of session, complete with lots of wandering, laughter, and alcohol. Cheers is a way of life, y’all. And we had to embody both sides of it 🍻✨🥂

Jacob and I had the profound privilege of photographing our dear friends and Michael with their daughter Abigail Ester on digital + 35mm film in Wilmington, NC last month ❣️

Micaiah is one of my dearest friends — a connection that was truly such a gift from God to me years ago. She is one of those friends who lightens the air in every room, making everyone feel deeply seen and known. I remember sitting in coffee shops, talking about boys that I liked and hearing about the beginning of their adoption process YEARS ago. We’ve seen so many answers to prayer in each others lives, but this November brought us som of my favorites — my marriage and sweet Abigail Ester’s official placement in their family!

When we went to visit them last summer, they surprised us with her photo during dinner. I burst into tears, knowing exactly what that meant. Years of longing, fulfilled. A tree of life. I am crying now typing all of this out.

What a privilege to document this season of their lives, living out the beginning of a true answered prayer. 😭❣️

With that, we’re thrilled to announce that we are moving to Wilmington, NC in May! This affects nothing for us business-wise, except that we get to offer ZERO TRAVEL FEES for Wilmington + coastal sessions beginning in June. 🥹 Our 2027 wedding packages already include travel throughout the Carolinas + Virginia, so no shifts for current or future clients in our tri-state area. We’ll be back to Charlotte frequently for work, and are excited to maintain our local connections with long-term vision to be dual-headquartered. ✨ We are just excited to spend the day-to-day in-between work with friends like these. Some digital + 35mm film horizontals from Meadow + Ben’s perfect wedding day this past weekend 🌷 They traveled up from Florida to host an intimate backyard wedding with their closest friends and family. It felt like the first true day of spring being surrounded by rich pinks and pastels in their perfect spring palette. Their people were deeply invested from setup to officiating, toasts to full-sending it on the dance floor. The energy made the wedding feel larger than life, though everyone could fit around a long table. It was a precious experience for Jacob and I, as we documented true connection with 6 cameras between us.

We’ve both been in love with analog documentation for years now, but recently our love has deepened. I am obsessed with the kinds of outcomes possible with film, waiting with bated breath for the development of our art. Working together is such a dream, and the 35mm from this day has sort of enshrined that ethereal feeling forever for us. And what a privilege to do that for our clients in the same breath❣️

Tear-stained cheeks + the widest smiles, all day long. Ari + Blake’s wedding day at The Ruth in Charlotte, NC was a standout from the 2025 fall season for many reasons. It was a day where simplicity met elegance, presence was prioritized, and flawless planning yielded the party of a lifetime.

Tangible memories, enshrined forever. This is what is possible when you live your wedding day your way — and when you have a team of professionals to support your dreams.

I always say that perfect photos aren’t achieved through intervention, but are the result of observing and honoring what’s in front of you with intentionality. Excellent photographers harness creativity and leverage environments to maximize their fullest potential. They can prompt, direct, and pose clients with playfulness, precision, and confidence. They also know when to hang back and let moments unfold, unadulterated.

35mm film from some of Napa Valley, California’s upscale wedding venues, documenting alongside my love. ❣️ Being a wedding photographer has carried me across the world — from Italy to Crested Butte, Colorado. I’ve had the privilege to photograph weddings with a rooftop view of the Washington monument in D.C., the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Milan countryside. 2016 was where it all began…sort of. After years of carrying a point-and-shoot around on family walks, self-portraits at neighborhood ponds, and taking senior pictures for friends in the woods near our school, I got a text that changed my life — my first inquiry. I shot my first wedding for $300 (as the lead — no seconding til after this gig 😂) and thought I was rich. 10 years later, I’m still reaping the reward of that decision. I’d do it all over again. I’ll pass on the floppy hats, though.
