It was only a year ago that I got my very own engagement photos taken beautifully by Nicole. 💍
He proposed to me at my favorite vineyard among the rose bushes, my favorite flower. 🩷 It was romantic and sweet, and I wouldn't change his proposal but... I would change the photos. The vineyard employee wasn't exactly the best photographer, and the roses were, unfortunately, dried out and crispy since we had been in a drought. 😅

So we got an engagement photoshoot to celebrate a magical moment that wasn't properly photographed!
This is a reminder that we offer beautiful, romantic, and whimsical engagement sessions straight out of a storybook.

Not only do we have a full closet of gorgeous gowns with inclusive sizing to choose from, but I can handcraft your very own dress. Anything you can dream or think of, I can design for you. It is our goal to make your vision a reality.

As a child, I wasn't as confident and secure in myself as I am today.
From a young age I had a passionate desire to express myself through clothing, and I had learned early-on that most clothing stores did not carry my size. I grew up always wanting to be a smaller, skinnier version of myself not only to be able to fit into clothing I wanted to wear, but also because the world told me I had to if I wanted to be respected, loved, and feel beautiful.

However, I discovered, this was all a lie.
An illusion, created by society to dim my sparkle. My journey of self-love began when I learned how to sew, and I realized I could create all the clothing I had always dreamed of wearing. After I had finished my creations, I collaborated with Nicole for some fashion photography.
With each photoshoot, I gained more confidence and admiration for this body I had tried to make smaller in my youth. I adore my body now. I see every bump and curve, every stretchmark a story of who I am. I don't try to fit into places I do not belong, I happily stand out.
I have learned that confidence is a learned behavior, not a personality trait. Self-love can only be taught by practicing kindness to your body and treating yourself as a gift, not a burden.

We created this business to help other women gain confidence, and most importantly, to achieve self-love and recognize that they are already enough.
Learning to love yourself can be a difficult journey, but we want to help. 💗

If you feel nervous about getting dressed up to get your picture taken--that's normal. That's why you should grab your BFF and force HER to do it with you 😂 Get dressed up with your bestie and spend thirty minutes frolicking in a field in our finest gowns, and get some beautiful photos at the end of it!

Packages include:
- 10 (or more) high res photos of you and your bestie that shows off your unique friendship.
- Access to our wardrobe, props, and accessories.
- Thirty minutes of fun and frolicking with your bestie that will be commemorated with bestie portraits unique to you and your bond.

Marke and Serene met in 2012 and have been best friends for the past fourteen years. They are deeply unserious people when they're together because they know each other so well. I think that comes through in these photos 🩷 DM to book!

We started Roses & Revelry for these reasons:

🩷 Free and creative expression. We are both deeply creative people looking to bring more color, light, and vivacity into the world.
🩷 Confidence. We don’t believe in “too big,” “too awkward,” or “not ready.” You don’t have to be a supermodel to be deserving of a luxury experience, or a camera focused on you. You already deserve it.

And most importantly:
🩷 Unconditional self-love. Above all else, we want you to walk away from this experience feeling beautiful and feeling like YOU. Fantasy photography isn’t about dressing up as someone else; it’s about coming home to yourself.

We have learned so much after a busy weekend at the Freya Fest! However, we seemed to have one question that was asked over and over again. "Is this for kids?" Lets talk about that!

First and foremost, our fantasy photography is for everyone. However, please keep in mind that our entire wardrobe, props, and accessories are for adult sizes. Why is that? It's because children have many outlets to express themselves but adults do not. I think most of us when growing up, were told at some point that we needed to stop our imaginations and grow up. At Roses & Revelry Studios, we don't believe in that line of thinking.

We believe that adults deserve to have their fairytale come true. Everyone deserves to dress up and get gorgeous photos taken. You do not need to be a child to don a tiara or a pair of horns. Let me leave you with this question. Is Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings for children? Did Bilbo Baggins look childish in his fantasy garb when he faced the dragon at the Misty Mountains?

Our photography is for outcasts, rogues and wizards, princesses, roving folk; its for anyone who has been told at any point in their life to "be practical", to "grow up".

Whimsy is for adults too. ✨️

We had a wonderful time at the Freya Festival this weekend 💛 We got to meet a bunch of gorgeous people, play dress-up, and take their photos! Here are a few of my favorites :)
