I use real dragonfly wings in these paintings, and, no, I do not kill them but if I find one deceased, I preserve its wings for my art.

“Abraham’s Blessing” Genesis 22:17 Mixed Media
I started this painting several years ago and just completed it. The stars are actually starfish and the shells on the seashore are covered with sand from the Red Sea (gifted to me recently) I’ve never been able to separate the Old Testament from the New Testament insofar as reading because both offer guidance and encouragement for traveling through life. Some argue that the Bible is a “story book” and I, too, have found some of the stories strange… However, not quite as strange as what I see unfolding in the world today. My painting represents the connection, old, new and the possibilities that are as many as the stars in the sky, the sand on the seashore… that is a “blessing”!
