Some sessions are about more than photos.
Some tell a story of survival.

Yesterday, I had the honor of photographing my mom — a breast cancer survivor and ostomy warrior. These images represent strength, resilience, and the reality that healing doesn’t always look the way people expect.

For those who may not know, an ostomy bag is a medical device that helps collect waste after life-saving surgery involving the digestive or urinary system. Many people live with ostomies due to cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or other serious medical conditions. While it can completely change someone’s life, it can also give them their life back.

Too often, scars, medical devices, and the hard parts of survival are hidden away. But there is so much beauty in surviving. So much courage in continuing forward. And so much strength in learning to love your body after everything it has been through.

This session was raw, emotional, empowering, and deeply personal. I’m incredibly grateful she trusted me to capture this chapter of her story.

To anyone fighting battles people can’t always see — your scars do not make you less beautiful. They tell the story of everything you overcame. 🤍

Tonight was a special one for me 🥹🎓

I got to photograph my little cousin’s graduation photos… and honestly it feels like a full circle moment. I still remember taking pictures of him when he was just a tiny little boy, and now here he is graduating and getting ready for his next chapter in life. Time really does fly.

Watching the people you love grow up is emotional in the best way, and being able to capture these moments means more to me than I can explain 🤍
