12 years ✨

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that marriage isn’t a spectacle.

It looks like compromise, uncomfortable conversations, serving each other and digging into the mess and working back to glory.

It’s the mundane, unseen things- and it may not look glamorous, but you truly don’t know how truly beautiful it is to love someone until you’re in the trenches together.

It turns working through hard moments of marriage into an eternal reward and the great moments treasures to hold onto.

I love you, and this life we’ve created. I’m really freaking proud of us. 💕

36 years have held a lot for you. You’ve watched life flip on its head. You’ve held space for grief. You’ve looked out over the ocean and watched too many creamsicle sunsets to count. You’ve kissed newborn baby toes and wiped toddler stained cheeks. You’ve been gentle. You’ve been victorious. You’ve known defeat but you’ve allowed it to lift you instead of leach itself to you. But more than anything, you’ve been faithful. And every person in your life has felt the ripple effect of it. You are so loved. So cherished. So valued.

Hi, it’s me! Long time no post 😅

So far this year has consisted of lots of intentional slowing down. Learning pottery, sweet dinner parties and being extra cozy with my family. 🩷
All that being said, my spring/summer 2025 books are finally open and I cannot wait for what this year has in store!

But for the meantime, enjoy scrolling through this newborn sweetness. So happy for you !

Well, I planned on doing a year in review post, but honestly I couldn’t.

I downloaded a bunch of images, hoping to make a bunch of slides from my sessions this year and got stopped in my tracks.

This year was my first year in over 10 years of professional photography that I decided to take a step back from shooting weddings. It was a hard choice, but I knew in order to create a life with my family that I desired, I needed to have weekends, especially in the summer, available to be with the ones I love most.

With that huge risk, came a lot of financial fear. In fill transparency, I wasn’t sure if only taking on only portrait work would suffice.

But as I tried to make my end of year post, I scrolled through the year’s galleries and started welling up with tears as there were just too many to choose from.

YOU GUYS blew me away. Thank you for another beautiful year of telling your stories and for supporting this transition so that it didn’t hurt the way I thought it would. If anything, I flourished.

Cheers to 2025 and risk and beauty and all the good things ahead🤍🫶🏽

Happy 3 to my not-so-baby baby. 🥹

He was delivered while Ain’t No Mountain High Enough played in the background and if you know him, you know how accurate that is.

He is always climbing the highest fence, eating the most amount of food possible, napping the hardest, and being the biggest, loudest T-Rex you’ve ever heard.

We love you more and more each day, Dyl. ❤️

Life for the Shamberg family has felt like one wild ride lately-mostly like an upside down double looped rollercoaster that makes you laugh, but also maybe want to nervously cry. (I am literally writing this after straining my 2 year old’s turd out of the bathtub- LOL, what timing.)

Maybe that’s my motto lately: HOLD ON TIGHT!

Often I find myself inhaling: *pause- take in every single beautiful moment waving its arms right in front of me*

and then exhaling: *maybe even 10 seconds too long just to feel some relief from days that feel really really long and really really hard.*

But then I see these pictures and hold on tighter as I realize: my boys will only do French fry mustaches with me for so long. They’ll only fit on the backseat of our bikes for so long. They’ll only be little enough to hoist into the air and play airplane with for so long.

And that makes all the effort to create these memories worth it. THIS is what I want to remember: that even though there were some really tough days, we always had love. SO much love and THAT’S what’s worth breathing in.

Thank you for capturing us in every season. One day we (may) sit still for you 😜
